I asked the good DevilSquirrel to help and he's already pushed an update so now the auto splitter should be working again!
Figured I should post about this here, in case more people want to play around with this. Hopefully Zimond is ok with this :P

As far as I know, we have not figured out much more than what is shown in the clips. I'm not sure of the inputs required or what else the conditions are anymore, since this was almost 3y ago now.
GLHF
Pros:
- Literally everything. Everything I'm about to "complain" about is overall very minor, like last year.
Cons:
-
Very crowded and too small NES/retro corner :)
-
2 of the 3 CRTs in the quiet practice room did not work or was missing their remote so they were not usable.
-
The people that were right next to the stream 1 audience that would randomly just yell at the top of their lungs (I assume StreetBoyz). I understand people are just having fun and popping off or w/e, but sometimes it was just yelling for the sake of yelling. It got pretty annoying, especially when trying to watch or run games on stream 1. Meanwhile, we got told to turn down the volume on some of our CRTs/setups because you could hear it on stream (lol). Edit: This did get better after a few days though, tbh. Maybe they were out of IL records to break? :P
There were a lot of runs submitted in the last couple of days (as you might imagine) + everyone that could actually verify the runs were busy with playing the game themselves (bastards). But the queue is down to basically 0 again, as of this morning!
Also, it usually takes longer than 5 minutes to check.
Hi all!
Since this is a Mega Man title, we were asked to create leaderboards for it over at http://megamanleaderboards.net
If you have any opinions on this or ideas for categories, rules, etc, you are welcome to join the general leaderboard discord: https://discord.gg/HEvCjrY or the classic series discord: https://discord.gg/mNQagDV
We don't check this forum that often :) Just a heads-up.
Overall everything was a massive improvement over previous years, so I'm going to be very nitpicky and only mention the two things that I can think of that bothered me a little bit:
- Stream audio was way too loud inside the stream room the last couple of days. Especially the hosts. I know I'm not the only one that noticed this :)
- The @everyone tag was used too much on discord during the event. Please use it only for super important announcements and just leave it out for other, minor announcements.
That's it.. :D
I'm just going to dump this here so people don't have to dig through the SDA forums to find it.
Credit goes to Nudua.
I'm going to request mod for Little Nemo (https://www.speedrun.com/Little_Nemo_The_Dream_Master). I'm not sure how active Havoc is at the moment and having more than one mod makes sense in any case.
Here's the thread discussing this (for the classic series), from 2 months ago: http://www.speedrun.com/mega_man/thread/dtpsq
The good:
¤ Room layout was much better this time. ¤ More space/rooms ¤ Decent number of TV's ¤ Good practice PC's ¤ Second stream back! ¤ Almost no tech issues :o (that I noticed) ¤ We stayed on/close to the schedule ¤ No silly pigs on stream (that I noticed) ¤ Lots of small side streams
The Bad:
¤ Too much "host time". I don't know a better way to put it. I'd much rather see feed from the second stream (or any of the million side streams, like the watermelon stream) than hear some random guys talk about the Emoji movie(??). ¤ Some of the hosts could've paid more attention to the runs that were going on while they were "hosting". Especially if there was an interview afterwards. ¤ Donation incentives/wars that were never suggested popped up on the site for some reason! Like "Rockman vs Forte" or "Low% vs Pacifist" for Ninja Gaiden. ¤ Some attention to detail, like camera angles or clearly marked start/stop buttons. I don't like to be yelled at when I'm on camera, for asking which button to start the timer with for a race, getting no answer and then drawing my own conclusion. ¤ People seemed to have crazy tight estimates (or just bad runs?). There were a lot of runs I watched that went over estimate. Even long runs. We still stayed on schedule thanks to tech though, so that's good.
Agree with Polari.
And redirect any comments/questions/feedback to this thread :)
I can share these results here, since they seem somewhat relevant: https://goo.gl/1vcTFs Details: https://goo.gl/znC91l
The second best alternative would be manual synchronization, like the X community is attempting now. But considering how many runs are submitted per week, it's pretty unlikely that they will be completely in sync at any given point.
This all depends on how dedicated the moderators are at keeping a site that none of us really check anyway, in sync.
The best solution from my point of view would be: ¤ Create an empty leaderboard page for every Mega Man game with a link to MMLB (similar to the DKC boards). ¤ Let people enter an "MMLB runner name" on their speedrun.com profile page. ¤ Pull data from the MMLB API and show it on their speedrun.com profile page
By far the easiest solution I can think of. I could even write the code for them.
Highly unlikely that they would accept that though.
How come we can't see the submission comments/descriptions? :/
So where can people find and donate for the incentives? I can't find them anywhere and the main page
I'll ask again; Is there a list over all the submitted incentives somewhere? Are we going to use the GDQ -tracker?
Seems good
