Downpatch Poppy Playtime Through the Steam Console

Downpatching Poppy Playtime is super simple.

1. Press windows key + r.

2. Enter steam://open/console into the prompt that comes up. 

3. Enter one of these codes into the Steam Console to download.

-  For Any%<1.1 runs: download_depot 1721470 1721471 8897518061680100138
- For NMG <1.1 runs: download_depot 1721470 1721471 5760656490992572463
- For NMG/Any% 1.2 runs: download_depot 1721470 1721471 1908539100791719856

4. Wait for it to download. This may take a while. Once it's downloaded, it will give you a prompt saying, "Depot download complete."

5. Navigate to your steam folder and go to Steam > steamapps > content > app_1721470 > depot_1721471 > WindowsNoEditor and open Playtime_Prototype4/Poppy_Playtime to launch the game.

God Zip (Huggy Zip) Guide

ALLOWED FOR NMG AND ANY%

In the toy factory, once the door opens to the spot Huggy spawns and chases you from, if you've set up boxes in a certain way, the game will not like it. A basic rundown on why the glitch works is that the game tries to place Huggy at his spawn point, and for whatever reason the boxes being placed correctly will cause Huggy's pathfinding to instead place him out of bounds. The game really does not like Huggy being out of bounds, so it tries to place him back inbounds, but does a very bad job. He gets placed in middle of the toy factory, and since the game does a check to see if you're behind Huggy (Used for making sure the player can't squeeze past Huggy and trap themselves in his spawn room) the game will give the player a large zip to his coordinates relative to behind you, usually zipping you into the middle of the toy factory, saving a good amount of time.
	Now on to the setup. It's not 100% consistent, but now that runners are claiming to get it relatively consistently with this new setup, I'm making a guide for it. The first thing you'll want to do is set up one rectangular cardboard box and one square cardboard box like done in the video listed below. Then with the smaller wooden box, you want to place it in the corner it's placed at in the video, not all the way into the left corner, but just a tad bit to the right, barely any. Once you're set up, simply wait, and once the door is open, go in, and make sure to time your backwards press to when he will spawn. (We don't know if it's necessary to press back yet, but better safe than sorry)

How to enable Spectator Mode in Poppy Playtime

Spectator Mode, AKA Debug Camera, Free Camera, Noclip

1. Go to Recources on this page and download "Universal Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker"

2. After downloading, launch Poppy Playtime and inject the app into the game

3. To turn on/off debug camera, type:
"toggledebugcamera"

Now you can fly around! But that's not all, your player model doesn't move, it's only camera.

To move the player model, turn on debug camera, look at where you want to be and type:
"teleport"

Now your player model is also there, and you can turn off the debug camera. Unfortunately, game can only teleport you on the standable surface, so if teleport doesn't work try the other surface.

How to Fix Broken Settings

Broken settings seems to be due to corrupted save and settings files. To generate new ones:
- Hit the Windows key and r and type %appdata% into the prompt that comes up. This should open your AppData folder.
- Navigate into AppData\Local and delete AppData\Local\Poppy_Playtime and AppData\Local\Playtime_Prototype4. You may only have one or the other. 
When you relaunch the game, you should be able to change your settings. Note that some of the settings are currently broken and can not be changed at all.

How to install AutoSplitter for Poppy Playtime

To install AutoSplitter, open your LiveSplit, right click and "Edit Splits", just above your splits you can find "Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 AutoSplitter and Load Remover.", click "Activate" button near it, and you're done. If you want to customize your AutoSplitter (like where you want to split and where you don't want to), you can click "Settings" and choose splits that you like. Ex: if you don't like that AutoSplitter starts timer automatically, you can disable "Start" option there.

How to replace tape videos in Poppy Playtime

Step 1: Download a video - it has to be an MP4, otherwise it won’t work. If you need a video with timer for blue VHS, here’s the link: https://streamable.com/rajkcw

Step 2: Open the directory in which you have Poppy Playtime installed and go into the Playtime_Prototype4 > Content > Movies.  This folder has all of the video files in the game.

playtime_grabhands_demo_fx_5 -  tape for the Blue Hand

VHS - Leith Pierre (Entrance)  -  Green Tape at the beginning 

VHS - Rich Avery Conversation (Storage) - Yellow Tape at the Storage

VHS - Stella Interview (Machine Room) v2 - Pink Tape in the Make-a-Toy room

VHS - Scientist (Bridge Area) - Gray Tape near the Poppy’s staircase


After you chose which tape you want to replace, add the video you need into the Movies folder, copy the name of the tape file, rename it to something else, and then rename your video to the copied text. I recommend making a backup for all tapes just in case. 


After that, you are good to go!

Note: Make sure to set the comparison under "Compare Against" as game time or have a timer display game time. To have a timer set to IGT, right click on livesplit and go to Edit Layout>Layout Settings>Timer and set the timing method to game time.

How to skip "New Game" cutscene

After pressing "New Game", press Alt+F4, open the game and load last autosave

How to Teleport out of bounds using UUU

Teleporting OOB (Out Of Bounds) using Debug camera:

In order to teleport OOB, you must have the UUUclient.exe program running, this can be downloaded here: https://mega.nz/file/MUhUlaqa#PI0ubSy_sQc4GouDPnZbulNSgQRUNIJeXNwLb2LnKhk

You must also have the engine 'Injected' into the game, here is a quick tutorial for that:

1. Download Universal Unreal Engine Unblocker (UUU) from the link above.
2. Extract and save the files to your desktop or somewhere easily accessible
3. Run any patch/version of Poppy Playtime
4. Once your game is running, open the UUUClient.exe found in the extracted files from earlier.
5. Where it says "Process to inject to", press the select button, and then the Poppy Playtime .exe (Your running game).
6. Press "Inject DLL"
7. MINIMISE (Do not close UUU) and go back to your game.
8. You should find that by pressing the backtick key or ( ` ), the command line will appear at the bottom. This is a sign that everything worked
9. If the command line does not appear, try closing the game and UUU and trying again.

How to Teleport using DebugCamera:
1. Inject DLL from UUU (as listed above)
2. Open the command line by pressing ( ` )
3. Type: toggledebugcamera
4. Press enter
5. Using WASD keys and Mouse, move the camera to a position where the crosshair is pointing to a solid wall or floor outside of the map.
6. Open the command line by pressing ( ` )
7. Type: teleport
8. Press enter
9. Type: toggledebugcamera
10. Press enter 
11. If you have entered back into your characters body and they are outside the map, CONGRATS. If you are falling underneath the map, this is usually because the character clipped under the floor OR you have teleported into a wall that has no floor underneath it. If this happens, try all these steps again but pointing the crosshair at a new location.

Trial and error will get you a long way, test things out and let others know if you find something interesting. Have a wonderful day!

Only allowed in Any% runs, this trick is not required to submit Any% runs though, you can just play the game as normal to get to the hallway if you wish. This is just a big timesave, only necessary if you are aiming for a top 3 time.
