Still waiting to have the cash and the right time and place to get a GBP disc, lol.

For emulation, I use BizHawk 2.3.2 with an mGBA 0.7.2 core. It's accurate as far as I can determine.

I'm slowly moving to all hardware; and GBP discs are expensive and hard to come by. Outside of using GBI and outside of having the disc, there isn't really a great way to capture footage from the officially released hardware, which I think makes GBA runs slightly more uncommon. Even the SGB2 is easy to work with for playing any GB/GBC games.

But at least it can be done. DS and Game Gears required modification in order to output a video signal that can be captured. Thus, they are even rarer, and emulators are much more common.

Pico:

Video: YM7101 ASIC, which was replaced with an FQ8007 ASIC in newer units. Sound: Texas Instruments SN76489 programmable sound generator and an NEC µPD7759 PCM chip. Input: "Magic pen" with an action button at its tip, a four button directional pad, and one on-board action button."

Beena:

"The technical specifications of the Beena are not currently known, however the system is known to have a 32-bit ARM7TDMI CPU clocked at 81MHz."

I dunno. Seems sufficiently different to me. Not familiar with them, I'm also pretty sure that is one of those things with many slightly different models released for specific times/places.

A 2DSXL may not have a meaningfully different than a 3DS; but it's a matter of accuracy to know what Hardware a run is done on.

We got them because we donated to the site back in the day before it was owned by a company and you had to donate to the site in order to get badge thingies. When ELO purchased the site way back when, they made badges available to everyone, but anyone who had donated back in the day got to keep the "Original Donor" tag with their badges. So, I don't believe there is a way to get it now; just for people who donated to the site in the past back when it relied on donations to operate.

"You can't consider the game 100% beaten without beating Mr Woe. You can star the Mr Woe level and there are collectible coins in it too."

Naturally; but it's possible that someone could submit a run where the Mr. Woe "Level" isn't the final level they complete in terms of 100%. I'm not sure if they would ever be conceivable useful, but just in case!

Very cool run, by the way!

Done.

Looks like PSP has the original 120 levels, and it also has 36 extras. There isn't a particularly easy way to add those 36 levels on this board as an independent category that I can immediately see, but it looks like All Levels would be 156 levels.

I play tested a little bit this morning, and it does appear to be the case that all 7 gems (in the levels that have them) need to be collected for the level to be turned into a star. I added the category for you, and sort of updated the rules a little bit since technically you don't have to beat Mr. Woe at the very last part of it. Let me know if you see any issues there.

But yes, the category requires basically every level to be "starred" sort to speak, and the when the final level is completed that makes you 100% the last level, will be considered the end of the run.

Apparently I realized this at some point becasue all my 100% IL's have gems collected.

The one thing I need to double check on in this regard is that levels have a "Big Gem" on top of the smaller seven gems. I'm guessing this needs to be collected to 100% a level. The only issue here is that the Big Gems don't appear to respawn when you replay a level like every other collectible. So if you already have the Big Gem, the only way to 100% IL run is to basically start from a fresh game file and play up to that level, and hope you collect the Big Gem on the same run that is your fastest and has all the other files; assuming it's considered necessary for 100% Level Runs. I propose this not to be case for IL runs (while all smaller gems needed to be collected in said run), so that you can actually just play the level over and over on any save file without needing to start from the very beginning.

Eh, I've been around for a bit and they are never particularly "active". Most people don't use these forums; they are speedrunning, or talking about it on that game's forums, or more so in discords these days (I actually like the discord linking feature that was added, since discord pretty much took over life over the course of time).

There use to be more stickies and posts that mods used to address concerns; those tended to be pretty active. But that was all replaced. That probably reduced a lot of the forum traffic.

Couldn't think of a short title.

Runner did run 22 years ago. Mr. X

Go to submit historical time and video. List Mr. X on run.

Since Mr. X is already an account on sr.com, the run links that runner to that automatically based on name. This is pretty useful most of the time; particularly co-op runs and mod added runs, etc.

However, I have a situation where Mr. X (the runner), is not the same Mr. X (sr.com user and sometimes other runner). I was wondering if there is a way to add Mr. X to the run without it hyperlinking to sr.com Mr. X.

Thanks!

Hmmm.. sort of an issue where milliseconds for RTA being blank causes the run to disappear on the individual board,

If you enter in 000 the millisecond portions for RTA, then the run appears, but it forces 000 to appear on the IGT as well. I do not understand, lol.

Nevermind figured out;

The issue; The Timer with Loads w/o Loads and IGT all being abled was causing issues for runs that only had IGT's, was causing them to disappear, etc.

So, yea, I have these runs listed; or course, we click on the individual level pages, and the levels don't show up. Until I changed the first level from Solo to Coop (as part of new system implementing), then the run disappears from both Level Leaderboard and the IL leaderboard.

I'm aware of issues with deleting subcats causing runs to disappear, but I should have the issue addressed. However runs still aren't showing up?

Anyone run into this error? Anyone know how to contact side mod about this?

Thanks.

Added discord link to the page (shows up as little Discord icon on the page banner on the right hand side now with the new changes they made to the site recently).

Man, I'm going on 5 years here; while there has always been updates, there has always been a number of issues that just have never been resolved. And while, I noticed the recent changes, I didn't notice the whole comments things, etc. and other issues that have arisen recently as due to the change.

The fact that messages actually got implemented and working on this website blows my mind everyday.

I doon't have lots of hopes for fixes for all the things you mention, but man it would be great if ELO actually did address a lot of these issues (which they probably didn't even know about when they bought this hellsite, lol), they could really make the site better than it ever was. It's disappointing to see the gaffes though.

In Dragster, I decided to go the slowest possible time the game will allow you to finish. I got lazy and figured close enough, and then Buffalax, and old runner beat my anti-WR, and I never bothered getting it back.

That was 4 years ago, and it stands: https://www.speedrun.com/dragster

Of course, back when I did it, there were only like 30/40 runs on the board, lol.

Thanks. Have no idea I get another 52 seconds. But then again, I didn't know how I would drop 6:55 all the sudden :19 drop. Maybe I'll do the back tees and see how the goes.

I mostly play synths and work on a computer to make music these days. I can play guitar, bass, drums (my favorite). I got a very general working knowledge of music theory, so I can dabble on a keyboard or mess around with any string instrument and get a feel for it, with the exception of using a bow, which is pretty difficult to get down. I smoke cigarettes, so pretty much any of other lung-capacity-having instruments are out of the run for me.
