Time starts at 0:29.233 and ends at 5:44.416

So, to put it bluntly, I'm an idiot. I read the rules as 'Time starts on the first frame of the loading screen after pressing START GAME' instead of 'Time starts on the first frame after the loading screen after pressing START GAME'.

This lead to me thinking I'd fumbled the run, but after looking into it, I decided to retime the run (specifically with https://slashinfty.github.io/yt-frame-timer) and realized this was actually WR. Well I guess I did finally beat Ryan after all.
