I subconsciously did the glitchless route in 15
That hurts me so much
"The gameplay should show some potential for optimization through speedrunning."
-src game request rules
Yeah i dont really know why anyone is giving this kid any amount of attention either
I don't understand how you came to the conclusion that this is 60 fps. For one, this is a 30 fps video so I don't even know how you'd be able to tell. Secondly, if turbowarp was running in 60fps there would be a clearly visible "60 FPS" text, and the game would quite noticeably be running twice as fast, because just about every scratch project inherently assumes a framerate of 30 and makes no attempt to adjust itself for different framerates.
please speedrun https://www.speedrun.com/franklin_the_turtles_balloons_away it is a good game and definitely totally isn't 95% rng you can get a 21 and have tied wr pretty easily unless you're like me are willing to grind for sub 21 which is probably almost impossible but i am doing it anyway and no i am Not okay.
I am currently grinding for sub 21, which I am mostly sure is possible. You just need near godlike RNG.
Today I played 200 games of FTTBA, and found how often each time showed up. Here are the results:
21s: 8.5% 22s: 39% 23s: 46% 24s: 6.5%
Another fact: Franklin the Turtle's Balloons Away is the greatest speedgame of all time. You will never be able to convince me to speedrun another game ever again.
Unless I am missing something, I think this game is too short and the times you can get are too similar to each other for it to be timed in seconds alone. I suggest timing runs in milliseconds instead. Thoughts?
hell yeah the only games i speedrun are ones that wouldn't be accepted LOL
i have to agree that platformer game is one of the worst, which is exactly why i got WR in it lol
This seems pretty similar to a Scratch game I made where there is no user input and everything is determined by RNG, and it's basically just speedrunning a screensaver. And since I have no life, I have spent about 92 hours in total grinding this game, in hope that someday I will get sub 3 minutes (the current WR is 3:32) yes this is what i do with my time leave me Alone
So late last year I had an idea: What if there was a speedrun that required no user input and was determined entirely by RNG? So I made a game in Scratch based on this idea, then let it run on my computer extensively, bringing the WR from 6:13 all the way down to 3:32 in about a month.
Then recently, someone on Discord told me about Barney’s Hide and Seek Game’s “No Controller Any%” category, which was the same idea as my idle speedrun game, and was an effect of the game having an autoplay feature along with some RNG. Although it’s kinda disappointing how little variation there is in the times you get; apparently according to a guide on SRC, you can get the fastest possible time on an emulator in around 5 attempts. But still, it was interesting to learn that my idea has already existed since the 90s.
So yeah, just thought I’d tell this little story about how I can never come up with original ideas :p
A while back I did a few speedruns of an obscure game called Monument Simulator (http://ostracodfiles.com/monument/main.html). Not only is the speedrun uninteresting, but the entire game is also (intentionally) uninteresting. It's literally just mining stone out of the ground and building a rectangle. Nonetheless, I speedran building a 10x10 monument in under 6 minutes which you can watch here:
I hope you'll be able to see why I have not tried requesting this game to SRC.
Also it's probably not a very viable speedrun partially because of all the different types of calculators out there
