The new 12 stage Custom Rally section has now been added!
This means that the old Custom Rally (6 stage) format has been archived, meaning all the runs are still available...somewhere.
I decided not to keep it as a format as it doesn't really make much sense to have both formats.
The Australia Free Roam location has also been added, as well as the bonus vehicle categories in the Levels section (don't know why, but I forgot about them until now!).

As you probably know, the limit for number of stages in a single custom rally has been upped to 12 (finally), making us able to do all the stages in one custom rally!
This unfortunately means that the current 6-stage rallies won't be valid runs anymore.
I'll do my best to archive the runs, but if you'd like to keep them, screenshot them, or just have one last look, make sure you do that by 1st Jan, which is when I'll change the boards.
Australia has also been added to the relevant categories!
Hey, me and a few friends have been having tonnes of fun getting all 4 of us (as Roadhog) onto the big rock tower on Petra's deathmatch map.
Our strat is as follows:
- Get goods spawns & 2 bad spawns,
- Get 1 hog onto the island using a Rein charge,
- Rein resets and switches to hog, at the same time, the other 2 hogs start moving,
- The rest of the hogs get hooked up one by one.
Our best time so far is 27.75s, and its SO FUN!!!

All of the stages seem to have certain triggers around the actual road which they reset you on, but it may be possible (doubt it). I know there's a mod where these areas are visualised for time attack practice purposes, but could be a fun investigation if it's not already been done :)

Custom Rally category has been added, it's been something I've been considering for a while but can't work until we get the rally limit raised from 10 to 12.
For now, you can't submit any runs because of this limit, so just hold off on any submissions for now until we find a solution :)
Update: Free Roam leaderboards are back!
...but all runs have sadly been deleted. I apologise to anyone who had a run submitted to any of those boards, the leaderboard layout was an utter mess and was very overdue a clean-up.
Locations have also been updated, so we now have all 7 free-roam areas as one drop-down, and the group as the other.
Tried to trial a new system similar to CMR2005's level leaderboards involving 3 variables instead of 2 (Free Roam, Location, Group).
Deleted the leaderboards in the process.
Still can't figure out how to make it.
tl;dr most FRC runs have been deleted (very sorry if thats happened to you), don't reupload any yet because the boards will still shuffle around.
Also if anyone actually knows how to make this work on speedrun.com please let me know - and again sorry if your run got deleted :/
I've got no issue with resetting your current year mid-run, in fact I encourage it to save people wasting a run that could be saved with one lucky reset. Yes, it's a gamble of about 20 seconds per reset, but it's necessary if you get a crap location.
My advice for the last bit about not being able to see the pictures is make your hud smaller, I'm only on a 1080p monitor and I can see 5 stages on load-up. But yes, wish we had at least the option to have the list.
Updates to level leaderboards:
-Indonesia + Kenya stages have been added -All Rain/Snow stages have been added -Stages are now organised by location (I'm working on using the flags like the ones in our profiles, instead of the 3-letter format, but it doesn't let you use emoji at the moment) -Rules for weather types have been updated -Some misspellings on stage names have been corrected

Just basically bumping an old suggestion to use flag emojis (from https://emojipedia.org/flags/) in names for Levels on the Level Leaderboards section :)
If anyone does know of a workaround to put flags in the name of them anyway, please let me know

Are there any plans to implement individual level leaderboards? I realise it's a bit of a pain in the arse to actually make them but they'd be a nice addition!
There's no guide as far as I know, but the basics are that you need to adapt the settings to the stage itself - for example:

Tires are the big one, obviously use the tire best suited to the stage (e.g. Abrasive tarmac on a Germany stage with Abrasive/Rough tarmac). And with mixed stages, like Stage 3 in UK, just try out different options, so if it's Gravel+Tarmac I'd run the stage once with Tarmac tires and then once with Gravel tires to see which is best!

High & Soft suspension for Greece, Australia, Finland and some Sweden stages.

Low & Hard suspension for smoother, tarmac stages such as Germany, UK & Japan.

Longer gears for certain cars on long, tarmac stages (like the Metro 6R4 which has weirdly short gearing).
And the other options like steering and differential tuning are sort of down to you in my opinion - I prefer lighter steering just because that's what I've always used.
Hello everyone, since LordCookies has just vanished I'm now the game's moderator for speedruns. As you can probably see it's been a bit barren recently - whether that was due to moderator inactivity or not, I don't know, but I'm planning on logging on and reviewing the page a few times a week, so don't hesitate to submit any runs!
I'm brand new to moderating, so please be patient as I'm literally learning as I go, but I know the game very well so I can verify runs to the same standard as before.
I look forward to watching some runs soon, so give me something to do and submit a run!
