The TAS made me remember - DARN IT!
JK - recommending this dump instead: https://archive.org/details/bad-boys-ii-europe-grabit
Bonus reasons that I recommend using the DEViANCE final NoCD (hosted @ GCW) instead of relying on clone disc emulation (Daemon Tools or other): IIRC SafeDisc (aka Windows 10 versions somewhat after RTM would never work) and other checks were solely at startup, and that the FMVs (spam one or more action keys on KB, or face buttons on pad - can't remember exactly; won't bother derusting) were by default to be loaded from the Program Files rather than disc (coded in by Blitz Games rather than appended later by DEViANCE) :)
Infinite loops, with a single loop verified to have three levels that are over a minute each (based on tool-assisted YouTube videos)... The only streamer to have done so legitimately had to heavily abuse savestates ("extremely hard" is an understatement) - the linked playlist contains the full NES journey, in which Micro Mike was played for FIVE sessions: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLd86ek1hXw2gFwXb4cCSmpjXW95jfSpXu For good measure, here's said streamer tackling the entirety of the Genesis version: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLd86ek1hXw2g9T-U95llBQ7E09Zg-9wex
Another stupid suggestion for a challenge (for suggestion's sake lol): "Best Purchases" extension to "All Weapons" category (values are in thousands of dollars, aka $k "units")!
ALL MISSIONS: 4750 + 245 + 1650 (+300+150) = required objective rewards + optional objective rewards (two suitcases, and "Flatline" bonus targets) + silent assassin (150 x 11 missions) multiplier (+ "Death of a Showman" optional award sum) = 6645 (+450)
minus REQUIRED PURCHASES (possible with above sum on a single NG playthrough): 7075 (-1350) + 1125 (-250) = 6400 = 8200 (-1600, almost all of this surplus requires a second playthrough/loop, thus ALL it isn't)
Items not purchased in this summation are (in order of Equipment, Silverballer, SP12, SMG, M4, W2000): Kevlar Vest, Flak Vest, Improved Lockpick; Low Velocity Ammo (for all guns), Silencer Type 1 (for all except SP12), Long Slide, Red Dot Sight; Flechette Ammo, Short Barrel; (any one) SMG Butt Stock, Silencer Type 1; Double Clip; Extra Ammo 1, Scope Type 1, and Double Capacity Clip...
Sorry for the necro; wasted a single afternoon whipping this up (for the fun of it I guess) so, just wanted to put it out there (so, uh, no need to take it seriously, or whatever) to satiate anyone who may have (had) similar curiosity (since you legends have satiated some of mine with completing various challenges like AZ for example) ;)
Forgot this got responded to lol https://www.xrel.to/game-nfo/37001/Tomb-Raider-Anniversary-R55.html Basically, leaked press review, warez scene released by R55 (b& = banned, NFO also preserved elsewhere) :D
There's already an OSX PPC-native port (easily found online BTW): anything up to Snow Leopard will run it natively, beyond that you may need virtualization (maybe QEMU or Wine or VMware Player); luck is also a factor if you're already on Catalina... If you're still into emulating a console, then OpenEmu is not good for accuracy - refer to the Emulation General Wiki, and also pay a visit to the channel: https://www.speedrun.com/sm2ee/thread/0xkkw
This game was the first good thing that has happened to me in 2019 :) Either way, currently improving me routing, and hopefully there should be a full single-segment run by the end of January :D
Thanks for the mod rights. From my experimentation, there is no Dark Mode in non-Wii versions. IMO this is how I would split the categories for this demake (both Mobile & PC platforms): Any% Bad: The fastest run WITHOUT breaking all records (time or steps or both) Any% Good: The fastest run (with ignoring some items, 2 on PC & more on Mobile ports, due to a certain glitch on those) WITH breaking all records (both time & steps, the usual requirement for unlocking Rachel here) As for hundo I believe only good ending is possible, since beating all records IS a requirement here (thus Rachel gets unlocked due to the run's nature, and after doing so there is no Dark Mode, or anything else to unlock afterwards). Plus I also believe collecting all items also counts towards the hundo, thus my "demotion" here. https://steamcommunity.com/app/582960/discussions/0/135509758528547972/ The only major difference between Mobile & PC versions is that after beating all records Rachel gets unlocked on the latter (due to being a PC-exclusive addition). Thus IMO there is no difference in how to do a hundo run between said platforms. Also no need for repeat as Rachel in a run (a la Ghosts & Goblins NES) 'cause records remain regardless of character, plus (repeating myself, but oh well) there is nothing else to unlock even if doing so. Just my 2c...
Took me a while to realize but, due to not grabbing two marbles (1 @ 105 & 1 @ 115, wastes time, good ending is still doable BTW), I have reverted my run (on the YT video's title and description) to count as Any% rather than 100%. Please modify the leaderboard to reflect the change. Sry ppl... Also if wanted, please attribute the run to this account, since I will be using it to submit my runs in the future. Thanks in advance...
