If you're playing for the first time, to pass each level, one must collect all 12 green things, trap all devils (if necessary), and then walk to the exit within three minutes.
You have to dig hard inside old shareware files to learn how to play this game, but for the speedrun, there are only six types of tiles you need to worry about:
Blocks - these can be pushed in all four directions, assuming you can stand next to the block, and an opposite empty space. These are your main tools to stay out of sight of devils and floor sensors, as well as trap Devils after collecting all gold.
Pots of Gold - There are 12 green pots of gold scattered across the map. In order to advance to the next level, one must get all twelve pots. You collect a pot by walking on its square. Once a pot of gold is collected, its block is removed. You can hide behind pots of gold to evade the sight of devils and motion sensors.
Devils - These red enemies will kill you if there is a direct line of sight between you and the devil in any of the four cardinal directions. The devils move in a valid direction around one step a second, and will occasionally spawn blocks in an adjacent space. In order to trap a devil, a devil must not have a valid move (i.e. have a blue block surrounding it from the north, south, east, and west). If a devil is trapped after all gold has been collected, the devil will disappear. However, if there is still gold left, the devil will teleport to a random free space and continue moving.
Floor Sensors - Like devils, these will kill you if there is a direct line of sight between you and a floor sensor. These purple and yellow things do not move, and are only on sometimes. When the inside is solid yellow, it will kill you, but when there is only a yellow "x", you can pass by safely. You cannot "kill" a floor sensor; if you push a block onto a floor sensor, the block will disappear.
Exit - It's an exit. Walk to the space where the exit is before three minutes pass to move onto the next level.
Stars - essentially useless in the context of a speedrun. There are sometimes yellow stars in some levels. Although these are invalid spaces for devils to travel to, stars don't block the line of sight for devils or floor sensors. Collecting them is worth 1,000 points, which could be useful in the first level if you got stuck and need to remove blocks, but aside from that niche case, you can just run them over with a block like it is nothing.
Hello all. As I looked at all the categories, it seemed like Survive% wall jump only was becoming a clone of Survive% jump only. Should one of the categories be deleted?
