Do I need to get the darkness effect if I am in 1.19 even if the rules don't say I have to?
Hi, today I want to talk about Minecraft 1.18, the new Minecraft version. Many speedrunners think that there should be a new 1.18 category, but the moderators are constantly denying the requests of the speedrunners. Also, my opinion about this problem is neutral I don’t support either of these groups. Let’s start with why there should not be a new 1.18 category. First, there must be more versions between the categories not just one version. Secondly, people think that it is harder to get a good time and it is, but just because of the amount of world resets in the random seed category. Also, we are just talking about the random seed category, and we have ignored the set seed category. The set seed category has great potential because of this new 1.18 seed in which you can even achieve better results than the 1.16 seed which was thought to be the best. And finally, although it is rare to find strongholds and that their patterns have changed, they still have fixed patterns.
Now that we have talked about why there should not be a new category, let’s talk about why there should be one. The first reason is that now the player can spawn in more biomes which makes the player spawn more often around 0,0 which makes it way harder to spawn near stronghold villages. And strongholds also have a chance to spawn deeper underground and you can end up wasting a lot of time on them. Another reason is that lava pools are now harder to find. Normally, you will just dig around a water pool or find a “good” cave that leads you to a lava pool. But now, water pool strategies don’t work, and caves are deeper, and this makes you depend on surface lava pools or ruined portals which are rare to find. Also, a minimal reason is that the slab bridge strategy does not work anymore, and it was really useful because it saved you time and blocks besides that it was more consistent and safer than jump bridging. Besides that, maybe the new 1.18 seed is too good, and it should have its category. And finally, most the console and mobile players are unable to switch versions unlike PC players and this gives PC players an unfair advantage over the mobile and console players.
Now that we have talked about the why and why not let’s talk about a possible solution to this problem. My solution to this problem is that the moderators should make a poll to let the speedrunners decide what they want to do. To either keep the current 1.16.100+ category or make a new category for 1.18. This poll should be open for all Minecraft Bedrock speedrunners. This allows the speedrunners what they want to do instead of just what the moderators think is the best. I know that if the moderators do approve this request, it will give fair treatment to everyone.
Thanks to everyone that is watching this video I really appreciate it. And remember that you make the difference.
There you go, sorry for the audio problems and other video problems. Mods, please approve this request, it took a lot of time to write this!
THIS WAS ALMOST A FREAKING SUB 10! Anyways, it's WR for Java and Bedrock so, congrats.
This could've been sub 16 run with delt cycle. Also, why do you use that weird texture pack?
@D I'm not talking about random people, I'm talking about people that actually want to become a mod, that have some actual runs, and that have been in the community for a long time. Like @Hashbrown1806, not just some random people.
