United StatesIs playing off of OPL allowed? If it is, what settings are required to keep competition fair? I imagine Mode 1 would be required.
I would love to start learning this game, but my childhood disc is too scratched to use in runs. That and I don't trust my DVD laser since my install was sketch enough to have Fast Disc Speed not work.
I have updated the rules to allow the usage of PSP and PSVita under certain conditions. Firstly, if you have sideloaded the game onto your PSP or PSVita, you are allowed to submit runs played on there as long as the disc read speed is set to "Normal" and you show that it's set to that before and after the run. Runs submitted on PSP and PSVita will most likely take longer to verify as it is more difficult to spot evidence of cheating on these consoles than it is on original hardware.
If you are playing the game on an emulator, you are required to show the entire window of the emulator, including the window border. The use of things like speed-up/slow-down, save states, or input playback is considered cheating and is thus banned.
All current runs performed on emulator are exempt from this rule. All runs to be submitted after this rule change are subject to these new standards.

This tournament is open to everyone, including people who have never touched a SaGa Frontier speedrun before, so long as they get their first personal best time before the event. You can now host and enter races for this game on racetime.gg, which is basically a better version of SRL. It has direct integration preinstalled with Livesplit, so no need to install any plugins. Currently, the only category is Any%. If there are other categories y'all wanna race, let me know and I'll add them.

I would like to reveal what I've been putting together for the past month or so. Introducing the SaGa Frontier Points Leaderboard! The goal of this leaderboard is to rank runners based on where they place in individual categories and award them points based on their placement in a category. As of writing, the maximum amount of points you can earn per category is 200.

I have just published version 2.0 of the combined leaderboard spreadsheet. For the uninformed, its purpose is to combine all the times across the internet and various leaderboards as a singular leaderboard. The changes between 1.0 and 2.0 are some minor things like formatting and translations, and major things, like listing both the SRC and niconico time for each run. If you find anything off about it, shoot me a DM on Twitter or reply to this thread and I'll fix it whenever I'm free.
