might be loads? this run had a lot of timeloss and I didn't use the encharted earth skip you mentioned. I think also because killing all the minions in the lord kardok fight makes him vulnerable earlier; I think my other minute of timesave compared to WR was during the last boss fight as most of the run I was on par with the previous record
Deleted the link to the PC version for now. This has been known for quite some time (Konasumi had to reinstall Windows once) and it was really a crapshoot as we didn't know why it happened. Open to ideas as to how to best solve this issue
From playing around with the Switch version, yes. You get slightly longer loading times but it's the exact same game and route. Only difference is lack of remappable controls.
Are you using the autosplitter that is in LiveSplit or the separate CheatEngine autosplitter that Spire made?
Yes, this can be added as a misc. category. I only need some times, because if there's more than one runner then that could help populate it, at least.
It can't because the level doesn't load fast enough. On PS4 it can but it's not as fast as Xbox
There is an any% run without the bouncer, but it's quite a bit slower than the any% WR right now: https://www.speedrun.com/run/dy4468qy
You can probably find a code on ebay or something, I don't know much about G2A other than they're shady.
Don't watch my run, watch the WR by Ensgmaster. It's 1st place and also uses the same route I use (the up-to-date one)
Listing all the movement stuff that doesn't have a tutorial yet (as far as I know), for DJTHED.
-Simple brake boosts used in Any% (I know Cane has a Brake Boosting tutorial already, but almost all the ones in that video are only really applicable in IL's)
-Flops
-Kick cancelling (this is really simple and I don't know if a full video dedicated to it would be the best)
-Rolls, spacing out movement well
-Ground pounding things from below
-Maybe tutorials for Murfy levels and individual things you can do in 'em? Like shield boosting in 5-1, and general moving platform boosts in other levels
That's all I can think of right now. If anybody has any ideas put 'em in here.
Basically, if you watch the intro all the way, timing can start in one of two ways.
-The instant you press the Murfy button to slap the heroes -The instant you press pause to exit level
Basically the first input that the game lets you do.
If you skipped the intro cutscene, timing begins as soon as Rayman spawns into the center of the Main Gallery. Doesn't matter if you have already entered a level, so long as you have 0 teensies/haven't completed any level.
I used to discuss doing this run with Downie a couple years back. We were supposed to do it at ESA but shit got in the way and I wasn't able to go. My only hope of ever being able to do this is going to a GDQ and hoping somehow that Spikeis there and willing to route it out.
I could possibly try to brainstorm some kind of new route, but I don't know if it'll be accurate since I haven't booted up my Wii U in over half a year.
The start point doesn't necessarily have to be the Murfy slap. If you pause to quit the level as the first input, then timing starts on that. Basically the first button press after the intro is over.
Load the file. Most softlocks in this game are solved by just reloading since files have set checkpoints
Yeah ive been considering the loads thing. Though honestly I
d rather sort everything out with Rayman Legends before moving on to this.
Well for NG+ optimally you'll need only a handful of weapons leveled up to level 10: Mr. Zurkon, the Rift Ripper, Buzz Blades, Groovitron Glove, RYNO V.
Tonight right now I don't have the time to write up the entire route and tricks and stuff, but i'll try to do it as soon as I possibly can
While I do agree that IL's would be cool I do doubt people doing IL's because the modern Rayman games are pretty dead right now. If enough people want to I can definitely add them.
As for the loads issue, it's tricky and so we would have to manually time out every load from every run which would be slow and cumbersome. I'm still willing to do it but the conversion process does take a while, just to clear things up.
