Thanks for your response! After fiddling around with different resolutions and whatnot and never achieving the same speed as on the leaderboards, I came to the conclusion that maybe running an old Windows in a virtual machine would do the trick. And I thought that running the game on DOSBox would just be easier so I dropped the ball on the virtual machine idea and started to setup the DOS version of the game. So there will be some runs from me on that version in the future!

I leave the virtual machine approach as a home work to all of you :)

Ok, I should have checked the X-mas version forum posts also, and the problem has been documented. I'll mess with the resolutions more at some point, maybe I'll get the same speeds and I'll report my findings... if I find anything.

Hello! I have been running this game for a few weeks and noticed something weird about how the game runs. The game scrolls faster to left and right depending on how big your game windows is or that is what it seems like with my testing. The game as a whole runs the same speed because the clock on the top right corner is always consistent but the movement is faster.

I tried with the small window (not pressing W for bigger window/full screen), running in Windows compatibility mode with 640x480 and with W toggled on on the start screen. With the small window Happy ran slower than in the WR and with the two other Happy ran faster. The compatibility mode was the same as the small window but with the compatibility toggled on.

The game seemed to stutter more than usual with the faster ones so maybe the horizontal scrolling gets wonky with different screen sizes?

I also compared the first and second place runs on the leaderboard and those are running the same speed.

Have you had anything like this happening? And what configuration should I run so we can have an even playing field? And not someone running the game with speed boost while others are running in tar :D

Always nice to have new runners! You seemed to have some nice tricks and also got the boss glitch/easter egg/what you call it. I recommend the tips from Zimond on the Forums-tab, if you are going to continue on your runs ;)
