That’s one way to look at it. It is subjective and up to interpretation.
I would say the prologue is kind of ambiguous in Symphonia. It could technically end after the Martel Chapel segment or it could end properly after Lloyd and Genis are exiled from Iselia upon defeating Exbelua signifying a true start to the journey ahead of them.
Sounds interesting problem is we go Palma route second in speed runs so maybe someone could just figure it out for fun.
I'll just post the video here for people curious why we can't allow for emulators runs to be on the leader board.
To make a long story short however, The emulators load the game way too fast as noted in this vod compared to the actual time save that is practically possible by a human. It's even faster on Dolphin depending on the type of computer you have as there are multiple variables to consider.
Well I've managed to remember everything but it's different for other people. I'd suggest running with notes since NG+ on steam is sub 7 hours but can be longer with no practice.
Quick note that the PAL GameCube version even though it plays at 50 FPS is faster than the Steam version due to a lot of changes Namco introduced out of nowhere along with nerfs for the strongest characters. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask. The community isn't dead we're just kind of dormant dealing with IRL stuff lol.
Sorry for the late reply. Yes you can run the German steam version and have no disadvantage as the steam version is locked at 30 FPS as it is based off the PS2 and PS3 versions of the game. The steam version doesn't have a Japanese version, which has a disadvantage on PS3, so anyone playing on steam can follow the route I created for NG+. Still working on New Game as we speak.
If you join our discord server I could help you out. I Am very good at teaching
Hey thanks for the interest and the question as it's sort of dull in here as of late lol. The co-op runs are usually done in person as net play can be unreliable sometimes unless all parties possess monster desktops. In my opinion the GameCube run is the most interesting while the Steam Version and PS3 version are a close second. Lastly you can ask whoever really just depends really.
I would recommend making practice files for each boss and practicing the Mystic Arte glitch that is explained at the bottom of the NG+ route for PC. It'll make more sense when you practice it. Spend time trying to understand the boss AI in case it does something differently and study the menus and practice them. I know this sounds like a lot but once you get more into it you'll see how easy this run is compared to the more technical GameCube run
Lol yeah it tends to pop up randomly. Steam saves are a bit weird in that regard
I find it easier for the file to appear if you restart the game multiple times or if you save a non related file then restart the game if it doesn't work please let me know and I'll find a much quicker solution for you.
Submitting a run means you are doing some sort of speed run that's why I was ranting. You will not be submitting that run unfortunately. We do not accept lets plays and nor did I bother reading your post for I didn't care seeing as you didn't care to even prepare at least a little for your travesty. Good day to you sir. Please never waste time posting on a "speed run forum" to waste our time :v)
No problem just as a refresher we have guides(written by me) for every version of the game. If you feel comfortable reading and playing in French by all means do so and then just submit it under English since the game loads the same regardless of language. Since you'll be playing on PC(Steam) the routes I created are very doable and are very descriptive and if you decide to do the easier NG+ category you can easily use the file I put on that guide which is my own. Just as a mini plug in I shall be doing runs this weekend as well since I have begun school again so hope to see you around.
It'd still be considered English so language doesn't matter don't worry
Well an Xbox 360 controller is a First Party controller so you're good. If you play on PC it's basically considered whatever version you play the game in language wise so English. Hope to see your run soon. =3
