I have the code to show the IGT value in real time if anyone is curious and wants to test it. I used it when I was running The Struggle and wanted to test things to see when exactly the timer is running/stopped. I can share the assembly to get the IGT pointer as well as the app if anyone wants to do some testing with it.

The app I made for the timer display is super simple you can see it bottom left. If the timer is running then they time is green and when it's paused it switches to yellow. if you want to try it let me know I'll clean up the code and throw it on GitHub.

It's funny because it says that GFWL is banned, yet GFWL code is in the (broken) current version of the game. You can manually install GFWL, just not using that installer that's in the RE5 depot (\redist\gfwlivesetup.exe). Honestly, there's so many changes between the console versions even just between each generation but, the PC version is by far the most out of date and will never be updated by Capcom. They half-assed the switch to Steamworks and left the GFWL code in, among other things, just to get it on Steam and sell more copies.

The rules here state that no textures or mods are allowed because they "affect gameplay" yet the PC version of RE5 is ~8.5 GB and the Xbox One install is 15.95 GB. That's a almost double the size of the PC install and considering the fact they keep changing the game and fixing things/updating it as they release it on new systems, the disparity between the PC and console versions only increases. The community patch is just doing what Capcom should be doing but never will. So forcing people to play a broken version of the game as-is while console releases are literally double the PC ones makes no sense.

I don't get why that would be grandfathered in. They submitted and verified the run on the same day that they announced in this rule change:

That's clearly something that has been patched out and (as far as I know) was never possible on PC (or Xbox One/PS4). So how is that even the same category at that point? Why would anyone run that now knowing that those exploits are no longer possible and it's pointless to try? If for some reason you guys want to keep the run then make it a separate category. None of the other difficulties/categories use those exploits. It completely changes the run. It's multiple things that completely change the run.

I noticed that the person who submitted the run also verified it, the same day, and is also the person who announced the rule change and grandfathering in which was conveniently the same day that they submitted and verified someone else's run. That person is also no longer a mod for Lost in Nightmares, for some reason, but is for the main game and Desperate Escape.

If this was a mistake or just something that was missed, then can someone just remove it?

Considering everything though (submitted the run and verified the run, chose that specific date to grandfather in the run, is no longer a mod in that one specific sub-game, etc.) I doubt it was a mistake. What are the chances that they picked that exact date? Of that run that they submitted? And they verified? Of someone else (one of which no longer has an account)? Of the only RE5 game they're no longer a mod of?

I agree. If it went at all by the IGT I'd say having it just be based for clearing all 150 (or 300) enemies makes sense. Unfortunately, there's no time on the results screen. Even the remaining time is converted into points so it's definitely more of a high score thing.

Did you get the medal for it and everything at the end of the chapter or no? If it has nothing to say you and/or your friend did it then it's probably a(nother) bug. This is the list of medals just for your convenience so you can check if you want.

Sum of IGT makes sense for the "Full Game" runs to me it's just not actually written anywhere lol. Should just be done like how we do it for Microsoft Solitaire where the boards for mobile and PC are separate. For individual difficulties it's more intuitive but even then I'd just explicitly state those kinds of things in the rules to avoid confusion.

But yeah I have played a lot of Sudoku and when this is a little bit better defined I'll definitely be playing. I was going to submit a request for this game and noticed that this had just been created. So, if you need help or someone willing to work on that stuff I'd be happy to help.

I just decided to open my settings at the end of a run to show that "make moves with one click/tap" option is off. Only takes a second and you only need to do it when you want to submit the run (so new PB, WR, etc.). We do something similar in Revelations 2 raid mode where at the end of the run we'll show the specifics of our loadout. I know it's annoying having to do anything extra but it makes verification easier and obviously more accurate.

I feel like his other run in intermediate is also using click to move. You can see right at the beginning he clicks the ace to move it and it wiggles because there was no valid move yet. It's not as obvious as the other one though it seems like he is trying make it look legit. I would guess that's why he makes so few mistakes overall but the only "mistakes" he makes are when he goes to move a card when there's no valid auto move. Always moving stuff exactly to the right spot at the same speed etc etc etc.

Trying to submit my run for "The Struggle" and even though "Solo" is selected it's giving me an error about there not being enough players. Here's a screenshot:

For now, I just put the second player as "n/a" and submitted it. I tried to edit the run after submitting it and it still fails that that validation when I remove it.

I checked to see if the validation was client side to see if I could bypass it but it's actually getting the error message from the POST to https://www.speedrun.com/ajax_editrun.php?id=zxd34dky&game=3169&action=submit so it's defiitely server side.

Ah. What about making a sub-game for the Microsoft Solitaire Collection? I pretty much only play 2 and 4 suit Grandmaster on mobile. Playing 1 suit is weird for me.

Was surprised there's no difficulty categories here past expert. Would be cool to see Master and Grandmaster added. Also, having options for 2 and 4 suit would be nice. 1 suit can only add so much difficulty.

There's literally a "completion" medal for 100% and you think that arbitrarily opening 3 or 4 chests should be the requirements. If it's not CR I don't even bother opening chests, and if it is CR it's only the ones I pass by without too much of a detour. Waste of time picking up low level parts/guns. Not to mention that your overall medal count actually matters whereas opening low level chests is, at some point, not worth the time. It takes no skill to open 3 or 4 chests whereas knowing where all the enemies are spawning, what they are, what to use, having the quickest and most efficient way to deal with them, taking the best route, etc actually has enough of a skill range to make it competitive. I think of stage V-3 where there's literally all the chests right there at the start how does walking 10 feet and opening them add any meaningful difficulty to completing the stage? It does not. In a lot of stages it would take away from the difficulty because there's not an incentive to quickly kill something(s) and move on when you're having to walk way out of your way anyways for a chest.

Grinding for gear is the best part of the game. You quickly level up all your characters and inherit all of their exclusive skills, complete all the records, and clear all of the gauntlets. Eventually you're left with finding the best weapons and parts that work for you and that varies from person to person, stage to stage, any% to 100%. You don't need the perfect gun and the perfect parts because there is no perfect gun for all scenarios and there is no perfect attachment setup that's always going to be the best choice for everyone. Plus it's co-op so if you want help leveling or farming or whatever I'm down.

Back to the main topic though opening chests for 100% makes no sense. If it was required for the completion medal, then maybe but thankfully it's not and the requirements for 100% are things that actually require some effort.
