Man, you're playing limbo with 1-2 Assist. A 00.030 second improvement coming from you means that we're coming up on the fastest possible time here.

During the act 5 boss, if you time it just right, the boss will send a second Projectile at you just as he gets hit and then you can hit him instantly again. Not sure if this saves time, because I've never timed it. Hope it helps! Also, what do you use to count frames?

Man, assist has so much potential! I hope you can optimize even further than you have at this point for the entire game, because that would be really awesome. If you don't, I'll still be excited for what you decide to do next.

I never really thought about timing by the first input, but that actually sounds like a really good idea.

I always felt like the Assisstance/Butterfly had no attention from speedrunners, but it makes sense if you don't have the best hand eye coordination. I do sincerely hope that you try to optimize the category.

16 seconds is a fine improvement for a run! A sub-6 is pretty hard, and a sub-5 moreso. Gl on the next one and I hope you break the 6 minute barrier soon!
