its not going to be a separate category NOW, it's just in the event that something is off we may switch to a separate category, much like how other releases of this and of other capcom games may be very 'close' to arcade, they are not standard and thus we may end up converting to a new category, hopefully you understand.
They are allowed as Arcade submissions as they are running MAME, however since they are modified roms we may need to move them to a separate category in the future if something is discovered that allows an unfair advantage.
Capcom arcade stadium is using MAME directly so it is allowed for arcade runs. I think it's possible to update the list of emulators as well, but we need a little time to coordinate about duckstation. Thanks for raising concerns.
This should be fixed now, sorry about that!
Thanks for the heads up, I have updated the CFC section with difficulties. The mod team will probably need to discuss how to handle Levels though since it's not very easy to set it by platform.
You are welcome to submit to the CFC section now with your same runs. Let me know if there are any other issues.
If you are able to perform the glitch run it would be great to have an initial run, we can add it as a special category.
Late to the party, but I prefer Vampire Savior because that is the name it is generally known by at this point. But Maybe we could have some information about the name somewhere?
Curious as to how fast the load times are, we can probably add a category for it if anything. If you have the time you should submit a run for it =). This board isn't highly competitive yet so you have a good opportunity to introduce your ideas.
I like the 'idea' of having all of the release categories but yeah definitely, as you mentioned, you may never see a run for one of the releases so it becomes sort of a non issue.
Maybe just a forum post about release category requests is the best idea? That's what I would do, ST is definitely way out of hand with how many releases it has lol.
Good luck, I hope this board and other boards are in a great state in the future.
There are almost 100 members that run the gamut of sf games in our discord by the way. Just wanted to clarify.
You are a free to think that my reaching out to site moderation and creating a support ticket was unprofessional.
However, I don’t know you at all, I don’t run any of the games you moderate and would rather have a site mod communicate with you.
I was acting on behalf of others in all of this and as I mentioned to you. I was just trying to mediate this.
Thank for the response. I will be stepping away from this situation for the time being.
As already discussed with community members and with Andy directly. I have contacted site moderators as well as created a support ticket about this issue specifically in order to stay as community centric as possible.
However it was suggested that I, on behalf of the community, contact Andy directly. After some discussion we’ll keep this on the community forums in order to create more transparency between the community, the site moderators and Andy.
Thank you
Thanks for bringing this up and I would be happy to help moderate if the need arises.
Yeah no problem, let me consult and make the change if needed. Will get back to you
The difficulties, aren't banned, we just decided on the default run.
Of course, we'll listen to the community, and if you'd like we can add the other difficulties to the board.
There are differences between the snes and genesis version of the game. some of them can be found here: http://www.gamepilgrimage.com/Weaponlord.htm
However, due to the inconclusive nature of the port differences and console hardware differences. There is no way we can reasonably have them both in the same category. This is a typical thing for most fighting game boards.
