Great finds! Does getting the Arc Doc early provide any bonuses? I completely missed in my casual route what it actually changed (unless it's just story progression).
Does this allow us to skip further into the story by bypassing previous missions or do we still need to do all the usual missions leading up to this point?
We leave cinematics in the final time since they will always be the same for everybody. The only things that you time out of your final time are loading screens since these can vary from pc to pc. Currently we don't have a load remover for the game to accurately time out the loads so until one is made we have to include the loads in the final time. This means that when you do an any% run the timer starts when you gain control for the first time and stops on final input at the end. Everything in between is included in the full time. You do not deduct deaths, cinematics or load screens.
Multiplayer runs are generally not accepted speedruns apart from Co-op runs
In a multiplayer match there would be far too many variables such as all the opponents and teammates behavior. It wouldn't be a fair or competitive speedrun in any way
You should normally receive a message if your run is either accepted or denied. If a future rule is added then we will only apply it to all future runs so no runner has to be afraid of their time on the leaderboard being invalidated because of new rules :)
That would just be pointless since it wouldn't do anything to the run except make it slower. Unless a strat is found on other difficulties there isn't much of point to run on anything else than easy
Everything should be set up now so submissions are open. If you have any questions/suggestions feel free to ask
This is the most recent and up to date guide/tutorial for speedrunning Dark Messiah of Might and Magic:
I have created a Discord server for the Dark Messiah speedrun community so we have a place to discuss the run, strats routing etc.
The point of this server is to have all information about the run gathered in one place rather than across several different sites.
The Discord is open for everyone, both old and new runners

As of right now there aren't really any special tricks or anything like that for the speedrun if that's what you mean. Most levels you can just run past the enemies without fighting anyone and others you just complete the objective.
The best program to use for timing the run would definitely be "Livesplit". Just download the program, make a timer for bf1, add splits if you want (not necessary but can be nice if you want to do several runs of the game to see how you're doing compared to your last run). Look at the rules if you aren't sure about when to start/stop the timer.
There is not any 'special' process for speedrunning. Just start the game and the timer and off you go ;)
If you have any questions about anything, whether it's related to the game, the run, livesplit or speedrunning in generel, feel free to ask :)
As long as you do all the chapters, the order in which you do them will not impact the final time in any way. Some people might prefer starting with Chapters 3-5 and then ending with 1-2 if they want to save the plane and tank missions for last. If you prefer doing them in the normal order, by all means go ahead.
I have updated the rules to clarify when the timer starts and when it stops, depending on which chapter is played last.
