J version has significally less lag. The sage manip comes from what frame you exit the screentransition after entering a stage(the intro to the stage) i believe 4/8 will give you bomb sage 1/8 will give you bomb+dog however the 2nd stage on the US version only has a 1/8 to give you bomb(and it comes with a dog), the J version i think has 4/8 on this stage as well 4/8 meaning every other frame. 1/8 means every 8th frame.

I've been pretty absent playing SMW since i got a 1:22:57 3 weeks ago. i did a run 2 days ago a 1:24:26 without touching or practicing the game for those 3 weeks and i'm playing it at Retrospelsmässan on saturday. Don't need to much practice to be in shape

Your april fools joke made me realize something talking to reze that ORB would be a terrible thing for entertainment and that is the reason why the 96 TAS decided not to use ORB.

So i was thinking what if you would BAN Start Select and Intentional Deaths instead. What would this lead? Well basically an orb would be acquired in YI2 as Virusorb is superfree. This would orb DP2 an autoscroller. No harm done right? Just for the better imo The other orb would be Tubular. What would this lead us? Well the downside would be no GBK its the sadpart. What would the upside be? Well you can orb BB1 and thats another good thing imo.

Third orb could be aquired in CI1 not sure how technical it is to get and be used in Choco Secret or CI2, I don't know which is faster. If CI2 is faster then another terrible stage off 96 run where its slow and we have to actually slow down despite not being an autoscroller. Sure there are some tricks where you get pipefly etc.

Last and final orb would be acquired in CI5 to Orb Sunken Ghostship. Another stage that is free and very easy long and boring.

It's the Start Selecting out of stages walking back and forth for massive ORBs that would turn the category to a nightmare to watch(and play). But with a simple Start Select Intentional Death BAN we'd actually get to use ORB to skip terrible stages.

No Star World is a terrible category because its too easy, NCNSW is more appealing for viewers/new runners

just because its the fastest way doesn't mean it should be on the leaderboard, take Pokemon Yellow for example, you can beat that game even faster than SMW i believe and they don't have a leaderboard for it :p

Out of a new runners perspective you chose a run that looks cool and entertaining that requires alot of skill most of the time, both of the 2 categories i mentioned looks far more interesting than lets say No Starworld with cape and 0 Exit, hiding those categories might make a new runner not want to run the game. I have asked Ellonija several times to run SMW and he has replied that he doesn't want to but if he would he would definetly chose NCNSW which leads me to that maybe we'd have more runners of this game if they saw it as a maincategory, i know alot of viewers find it dull to tap left over many stages.

No offense but why is 0 exit a maincategory and NCNSW and 95 no Cape is not?

OK did a derust 96 Exit Race after not playing for a month, 1:25:08, my run at AGDQ was 1:24:50 and the WR is still 1:23:17 by me

Super Mario World 96 Exits new PB 1:23:17

Update on Super Mario World 96 Exits i am continuing to improve my consistency however no new World Record. My Average Run is 1:24:08(44s of WR) with 118/343 completed runs. I had a 1:24:16 in Marathon recently. I am continuing to do runs until i get a new PB.

I also have a potential Incentive for this if you want to add another 15 minutes of Estimate. After the run i could do a SMW 11 Exits No Major Glitches PAL Version being run on a NTSC Console.

PAL Version of this game has huge difference in mechanics such as Mario running faster(however getting p-speed is the same time) Jumping is higher, Caping is alot different.

Damn i should have submitted SMW 96 Exits PAL for a change of.... the entire game mechanics :) and then ran it through flashcart on NTSC for Mario on Drugs
