hi! so ive just started revisiting this game to try to finish it after getting stuck somewhere in the middle almost 20 years ago 💀 and i was wondering how runners get to speed up the game (im planning to speedrun this game after finishing it casually)

reading from the leaderboard rules, it has something to do with the Ctrl key but id like to know how exactly it can be used for speedrunning purposes. thank you in advance for the help 😀

Don't quote me on this as I don't exactly run the game, but when I did try out some speed strats, I believe the strat was to hold Ctrl and then left click the mouse in order to instantly skip a line of dialogue. (If anyone reading this runs the game, feel free to correct anything I got wrong.)
