Hello there. I was just wondering something. I know my run was verified ages ago and I was told afterwards to be mindful of it, but does quitting out the game to make a safety save count as the run then being counted as a "segmented" run? I saved in sewers just so I didn't have to redo a run. This was when I wasn't quite William Wallace at the game but I'm definitely there now. I was just asking so I'm aware and so new runners are aware.
Thank you for your help!
Here's the rule quote for the default Any% category: "Single Segment (SS): You can't have quit outs during your run."
However, there's recently been a new category added called "Any% RTA". You can select it in the drop down menu that displays SS by default. This RTA category allows you to make saves and exit out to the menu. Runs that exit to the main menu should not be submitted as SS runs.
Now, with RTA runs, does this mean we have to run against apjmm's time? I'm a bit sceptical due to the fact that his run took months to piece together so the category of RTA wouldn't be possible to do in a stream if you had the intention of taking the WR. Don't get me wrong, it's great that it's there, just feels a bit cheap for those who like to run a run in a stream for an audience and not piece it together for months on end until it's unbeatable.
"Any% Segmented" is the category that Apjjm did years ago, which is different because he didn't have to do the run in one sitting. Any% RTA would be the same as SS, which has the most runs, but it allows you to exit to the main menu and make saves any time you want. The timer continues during the menuing though, so keep that in mind. Here is a screenshot of the RTA category:

When viewing the leaderboards or submitting a run, you just need to change the SS drop down menu option to RTA.
