Hello! While comparing runs, I was baffled that my new best time of 5:10 on The Cleaner was 15 seconds behind the best time. I compared the runs and was about 2-3 seconds behind since I made a few errors, but come to find out, it takes up to 10-15 seconds longer to activate a certain door with the ID10 unit. For comparison, the best time currently at 4:30 you see it takes about 5 seconds to activate that door. In my run of 5:24 at 4:44, it takes about 15 seconds to activate that door. I want to know how I can eliminate this LARGE gap in time for optimization?
Fixed the issue. Changed settings from Ultra to Normal and it now loads fine and under 5 seconds. Apparently is a hidden loading zone.
Yes I encountered that issue as well but for me what fixed it was not shooting the door behind me straight away. For some reason every time I did that the droid would take for ever so I waited. Honestly I don't think its necessary to shoot the door though I dont think the enemies come down but I might be wrong.
Edit: Not shooting the door doesn't work. However shooting the door a second after the ID10 droid starts using activating the door works. Thanks for the tip!
it is a loading zone, after doing some research i found that shooting the door and running into it make no difference, when comparing it to other levels most do have some loading half way through to join segments i believe that is the job of this door.
Well I did a buttload of testing. I was wondering if when I recorded was the problem, but the reason it worked when I wasn't recording was because I wasn't rushing and didn't shoot the door right away. So far the only recording way I got it to work was waiting a sec to shoot the door. I have a beefy computer and was wondering why the large inconsistency in loads
i have an i76700k gtx 1070 and 16gb of ram, its to do with your hardrive, mine isnt a ssd so its slow but some people have a really fast load which is because of the game being installed on the ssd, i only have windows on my ssd and cant fir battlefront 2 on it thats why i get a slower time on that level.
I don' think it is necessary to shoot the door, I'm not sure whether shooting the door or not speeds up the droid but I would assume it would make it faster because maybe it despawns the enemies you cant see or any objects behind the door however I could easily be wrong there.
Well I got perfect consistency using TannedBatman's suggestion. I have written a comprehensive optimization guide for the Cleaner based off my previous run ^_^ make sure to check it out. And sorry to take 1st place away TannedBatman ;p lol
I'd like to say that I have noticed when you play as the droid and go to slice something there's a small time where the droid stays still then positions itself to how it is supposed to slice it. However If you just move to the correct position it doesn't have to wait and starts slicing immediately. Also in the last vent before Iden that blue laser shield thing doesn't damage you. I assumed most people knew that but still.
Yah that probably would help with further optimization. I hadn't really thought about it but do now notice it, so thanks. In the 3rd person ID10 parts I try to hit G asap, but true I could save some time positioning it first. And I'm confused as to what blue laser shield thing you are referring to?
the last vent you have to activate to get to iden versio just before that to get to the room theres a laser shield which you have to a slice something else to open. 2:12 in my run.

Oh yah. I know it doesn't cause damage. I wonder though if it is possible to somehow glitch past it without having to activate the terminal that disables it.
Also take note that when the droid is entering the vents it doesn't take damage. This helps when going under the door.
i dont this glitching though anything in this game will be possible based on the high ploy count. of door ects and how the developers probably tested the blue barriers extensively as their only purpose is to stop players
