4_08 Semi Major Skip: Instead of using the white teleporter to go to the room to get green you can jump right without having rotated anything to get red. Swap it at the entrance and then teleport with white up to go get green. From there you can teleport with green over, swap it in the window get red and carry on as normal.
Minor Skip 4_08: (If you're not doing the above skip) In the area where you keep switching between white and green to get to red. Instead of doing 4 teleports you can just do 2 and look up to get red.
Minor Skip 1_05: In the room to the right instead of going around on the platforms to the right you can do a tight jump to the left stand on the orange platform begin jumping right and collect orange and then carry on as normal.
Semi-Major Skip 2_01: In Floor 2 Level 1 instead of completing the red and white puzzle you can go to the corner opposite where the green cube is. If you then jump and look at the right angle you can just about see a few pixels of the green cube to collect it and finish the level.
Minor Skip 2_10: At the first lined pane of glass at the top of the stairs you can jump above it to collect red / green. If you aim (kinda hard to see in the image) roughly at where the fourth line on the second lined pane of glass meets the black wall you can just about jump above it to get a swap. https://imgur.com/a/GxIfNh5 The jumping can be a bit random but with a medium jump you have a tiny window to put it on the rotary thing or with a high jump you have a slightly bigger window.
I estimate it saves ~2secs if gotten first try but it is very difficult and probably not suitable for RTA.
trying to find a skip for 5_01. I've messed around with the teleporters, was able to kinda clip my head through the ceiling above but I just get shot straight back in bounds.
Also the part of the train platforms where it goes slightly bigger left and right if you rub up against that wall random objects, floor etc become black and fade in and out of existence. Probably just a faulty texture mask but you never know.
Also tried rotating the level and restarting as it saves the rotation but it either softlocked me in the starting pod or I was able to glitch throuhg the door and get stuck with the door on the floor and the thing that moves you between the platforms far away on the ceiling.
Skip Idea 3_03: You can collect red from the pit and destroy it in green. Then jump on the white cube, stand on the right and you can get orange. teleport over swap orange with white swap white with green and finish from there.
Looks like it's actually slower, do test it for yourself though.
Minor skip 3_05: The beginning is the same except you leave orange and only take green into the next area. Teleport across. Then stand roughly on the edge / pipe and aim for the middle top of the green teleporter. You should get teleported to it, stuck in the celing and bounced to the other side. Get blue teleport back leave green grab blue jump over to put it on the far block and finish normally from there.
It saves about 7-8 seconds compared to what is done on the leaderboard. But if the strat currently used was done correctly then I estimate this saves ~2-3 secs
Major skip 3_08: You can just teleport to white on the left from the start. Then stand near the edge and you can grab blue through the wall near the light strip. Finish normally from there.
I estimate this saves ~17-18secs
Rip, was able to jump on the railing where you switch platforms on 5_01. sadly at least I couldn't get across with it. Was thinking there might be a way to get bumped up by the lip of the edge or something. Also messed around jumping on the tracks seeing if you could chain 2 jumps together.
Randomly was jumping on the plant in the far left corner just after you come out of the pod and it launched me to the other side.. doesn't do anything but it was weird.
I found something really weird. At the roof if you get on top of the couches far left / right and then jump around a bit near the far corner near the wall you'll get warped on top of some invisible collision. Not sure if it has any skip potential, just documenting what I found. Maybe there's more points where this happens?
Also I've started messing around using cheat engine, was able to give myself infinite jumps. Tried to see if there was a way to skip getting food. sadly both the button to open the elevator and to go to the next floor are deactivated. The button to go to the next floor activating is based on cooper's voice line after clicking on the call elevator button.
Also you can't skip the wake-up call, the ceiling is solid.
However, if you can get far left / right past the black lamp things in the corners at the roof you can walk around the trigger for the ending dialogue and the leave option still works.
Do post here if you have anything else I could try check :) (Side note: the infinite jump I used wouldn't be useful for cheating, I trick the game into thinking you're always on the ground so when you jump you don't get a boost like normal but stay at walking speed and kind of glide back to the ground)
In 4_08 you can get a really strong launch out of bounds on the red teleport when using the gravity changer. Don't know the inputs or anything, but you (might) be able to come back down onto the exit door instead of getting the blue cube. Not sure if it'd be faster, you get launched pretty high.
I messed around with it awhile ago, didn't get anywhere but definitely I would be interested if someone else wanted to take a look at it. I'm still working the idea of trying to jump across the gap from the beginning.
I was playing without any changes to the frame rate at the time as well, so that might have affected it. Not sure what fps the game runs at normally, but I ended up locking it to 100 to prevent those black screen crashes.
I'm so close to finding a way to skip the end dialogue. Using the invisible collision I found if you can get on top of the wall you can jump outside and walk to the leave option. Currently brainstorming ideas that don't involve using cheat engine.
Also If you can get on top of the doors you can jump to the sides.
actually, another idea is that you might be able to jump over the trigger. It doesn't extend infinitely upwards. It seems to be roughly as high as the wall on either side.
GG Found another skip. It's very precise and RNG and probably not suitable for runs unless you find a setup.
But in 4_08 if you do my first skip to "get red" early, you can then stand a little far away and aim at the top of the second white teleporter and teleport. This will semi-clip you out of bounds for a brief moment, in that time if one of the blue boxes you would normally get rid of passes by you can collect it, although it's quite a tight window / timing. Finally (if you want to save the most time), you leave blue at the entrance and teleport up to white and if you stand in the right spot at the edge you can aim at the top of this white teleporter so it will bounce you back to the otherside. Take blue and finish the level :)
No clue how much time this would save if gotten first try.
Side note: Just realised if you can't get the original jump to get red early consistently you can use the white teleporter bump except to the right. This will land you on the edge of the glass to the right and you can walk down. (however this isn't 100% consistent, sometimes you'll just get bounced downwards and die or not get a bounce).
Found a second skip today.
In 3_07 you can leave green where it is, grab red and stand in the generator's right corner (the one closer to the teleporter) You can then teleport at the top of the red teleporter and this will bounce you backwards and right. Then you can look through the window to get blue. Swap with green and finish from there :)
Update: Similar to 3_08 you can just stand just in front of the pillar in front of the red generator then Aim roughly where blue is behind the horizontal white bar above the second pillar and stand a little bit back to collect it through the wall. swap with green and finish from there :)
This saves ~11secs
Third Skip + an option In 3_05 once you have green teleport to where the end is, stand near the blue barrier and if you get the right angle on the green teleporter you can clip through the wall skipping the rest of the level.
Technically this can be done in 4_07 also with the red teleporter instead of walking around but I'm not sure if it's faster or just about the same time.
In the middle of planning a 5_01 skip. It involves doing the route normally until you teleport to where green is in the first puzzle. My idea is to clip out of bounds using the blue teleporter on the ceiling. Then when out of bounds swap the blue with the red cube that was left outside beside the green / white barrier. Then using the red teleporter teleport back in bounds and continue to the end.
I've been able to clip out of bounds, still testing whether I can see that red cube or not.
Update: Just did it, somehow I got launched by the wall perfectly towards the cube.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT IT TO WORK There's a skip for 5_01 ..... I'm so surprised that actually worked xD
No idea if I'll be able to recreate / make it consistent but yeah.... it's a thing.
Here's the vid if anyone wants to try it / help find a setup for it :) :
4 new skips. Today was a good day.
In the current route it's not useful. But in 3_09 you can use the first white teleporter on your right to get bounced from the side to the window opposite and then jump from there to get blue. After semi-normally you get green from the end and go in the area on the right but only take out red and finish from there.
