My friends, does it just keep happening? Indeed, one may say "It just keeps happening!", as just recently another legendary, long-standing record speedrunning time has been shattered.
Competitive gaming and speedrunning writes many stories. This one takes place in the classic speedgame of Sonic Generations and on the classic home console that is the Xbox 360. A competitive niche where only few venture to compete, where, perhaps, many a record is up for grabs if you have the skill and the speed.
Sonic Generation's main category of speedrunning competition is the any% full game run, where players have to defeat 18 main acts, find 9 keys and overcome 7 bosses in order to finally best a certain Dr. Eggman, who has been stealing space-time in order to achieve evil goals.
Now, my friends, would you believe me if I told you that the legendary speedrun time in question here had stood for all of 11 years, 8 months, 1 week and 5 days? In other words: a 4274 day untied world record has finally been slain. So get yourself a warm beverage, get comfy here at the fireplace and relax as we dive into the story of Sonic Generations 1:06.
Hi, everyone!
I got this time on November 2. Since I haven't played for a while now, I thought I should upload it before the year ends. The biggest, and most shocking, time-loss is 1 minute in Terror From the Deep. Pace out of Era 1 is 17:34, which is completely fine. Haven't gotten a sub 17 yet. Pace out of Era 2 is 40:14. My best is a 38:54, which could be better if I got a little more consistent. The ending was pretty nice. Planet Wisp was not great, both acts combined lost 39 seconds to my golds. Crisis City modern also lost a chunk, but that's it for major mishappenings in Era 3.
Cheers! Happy new year, everyone!

This announcement thread is for those who only look at the site and aren't in the Sonic discord.
Sonic X Shadow Generations will have 2 different leaderboards, given how different the Sonic part looks from the original, there is now a new Sonic Generations board just for this game.
