I present to you three fresh categories that you can run, all are game genie codes:

PIGOAP

Swim everywhere and still keep running speed as you do it. Allows for FFPG and the code also places you in the middle of the level every time you enter a new world (considering there's only world 1, this only applies to 1-1).

Main objective is to get past 1-1 as quickly as you can, and, if you're playing the fixed version, to find a way to get through 1-3 with floating physics optimally.

TEYIUT

Regardless of where you are or what you are standing on, every time you press down, the game will act as if you're entering a pipe, and you can warp to the nearest sub-area on command. The catch is that you may have to travel a certain distance to load the warp. I'll let you experiment with that.

OZAOAT

Levels become a massive, scrambled mess of random generation by replacing current tiles with other objects. Every pipe is enterable. From the frame at which you enter a new room, every action you do, every input you make, and every subpixel you slow down, will determine how the level pages are generated.

This phenomenon in 1-2 occurs because of the conversion from "Good Grief" to this random scramble of pipes.

So what happens if you enter a pipe in 1-2 around here? Guess you'll have to find out, but if it were important, a category that requires quick thinking, a bit of luck, and some tricky execution would make for a very interesting concept.

BONUS: Can you find a way to enter a pipe in this current state?

So I've gone through and tweaked a couple times and updated some stuff, and going forward I will be maintaining high accuracy with these retimes.

Another thing I wanted to mention is that I have gone through and deleted every time with an expired / deleted VOD, this is something that may not be considered the norm in many speedrunning communities, but for convenience and keeping the leaderboards truly fresh, I have gotten rid of the empty verified submissions.

Also, I know I talked about requiring view of the full window of your emulator, and I've decided to take a step back on that because it's not very necessary and I haven't followed that rule myself, in true honesty.

Due to the departure of fellow Super Mods samm_1703 and ShotzIsMe, I have added MatyMak as a simple verifier to prevent the controversy of having to verify my own runs (that would be super corrupt). You can always ask me about trying to become a verifier yourself, however, it does require that you know what you're doing. If that's the case then I'd be glad to have you on board (yeah I know this is technically a dead romhack but I'm doing my best here).

One final thing, the categories have seemed a bit bland, so feel free to provide any suggestions here or wherever you wish to contact me. There's a decent chance I will abide by most reasonable requests (no 69 coins + crash combo crap lol). Happy Petscopping. (💀)

The MesenRTA emulator (threecreepio version) has been added to the list of legal emulators in the main rules. It has always been legal since its creation, but to prevent confusion I added it anyway. I encourage runners to give this emulator a try because it's simply Nestopia but with an input display, which helps with retiming purposes. That decision is ultimately up to you to decide.

Also, controller / keyboard audio is highly preferred if you want the verification process to go more smoothly. Obviously that can't be held against you but it would help a ton and refrain from potential suspicion of your runs.

Full sessions are also encouraged but not required.

IF YOU ARE USING AN EMULATOR, YOU MUST SHOW THE FULL EMULATOR WINDOW. That can be in your main recording / streaming layout or a separate recording of your desktop, whatever it may be. (Even a phone recording pointing at the screen works fine!) There are certain properties that must be shown that include the emulator window to deter TASing and other cropping from legitimate gameplay.

I hate seeing people getting PBs and forgetting about a certain aspect of the rules and their accomplishment turns to ashes, so starting out I will be lenient with this since not many people actually CHECK the rules, but things will slowly get more strict if runners don't comply. Thank you for your cooperation.

As a new SRC moderator for this romhack, I have went through each of the runs in the original rom Any% category and fixed any previously known retiming errors. Let me know if I missed any. I am currently working on retiming all the runs in all the other categories.

These retiming errors are mostly just a couple milliseconds off, but I have spotted a few that were retimed using 60-flat rather than the 60.0988... framerate, or were just completely off by huge margins. Make sure you're retiming your runs with the correct method (I personally recommend somewes.com), and let me know if you have any issues. I'll be glad to help you out.

Hey everyone. I was added as a moderator today, and I am currently working on fixing the leaderboards. A lot of times didn't make sense (like there were times that had a .04 second difference) which isn't possible for an NES (on NTSC). I am updating the times to actually make sense for an NES, so hopefully the Any% Leaderboard isn't as terrible as it was. (I will get to the other leaderboards eventually). By the way, I only updated the times that were faster than 1:35, so times slower than that will not be "fixed."

I have also cleared the queue, so sorry for those runs taking months to get verified :P

Retiming runs is extremely painful for petscop as FPS makes the black screen appear at different times (even if runs have the same speed) . If you have an issue with a retime, please hit me up on discord or make a forum.

I hope to be a decently active moderator so if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Runs should be verified in 2-3 days for the most part.

Lastly, I am deleting the All Levels category since no one has done runs of it. If you do a run of the category, leave a forum post with the run and we will re-add it.
