The 'Verified' column

This is something we've talked about for quite a long time but never really thought about doing it this way. We originally wanted the option built into speedrun.com but then this idea came up.

This column will default to yes. It is only for times that have videos of poor quality. We're still working on it so it's not going to be totally accurate for a bit.

This does not mean times without a video will be allowed in the future. It is purely for videos that don't quite meet the quality standards. On the submission page you can just ignore the drop-down.

Would it be alright for me to ask what defines as poor quality? Also, I believe your using the wrong word "verified" if it's meant to tell us the quality of the run. The run wouldn't be listed if it wasn't verified. :P I also feel the need to question why this is important? Also, what brought up the idea?

Cheers m8s! :)

Something like few minutes missing from the video, drops a ton of frames (see the WR). There's no real guideline it's kinda just a case-by-case basis if it's poor quality. Ye if you look at http://zelda.speedruns.com/leaderboards/oot/any, we basically just wanted to have that kind of format. The run is listed but it's clear that the run isn't "verified". We've been talking about something like this for quite a long time but we never thought about doing it the way we have it right now. We originally wanted it to be part of speedrun.com itself but then this idea came up and it was perfectly timed with Cheese's current run.

The definition of "poor quality" varies by category. A recording in RTA can be "verified" with significantly worse quality than single star.
