# Hey friends! 👋



This guide contains the playlist for the Any% tutorial series of Chaos Theory. You will find videos covering main tricks used in the run, livesplit setup, breakdowns of every level, etc.

### At the moment you're reading this, the tutorial series is still a work-in-progress. Not every video is yet live, as I am still working on it!

It's mainly intended for new players getting started with Chaos Theory, however, in the future, I plan on making a playlist containing every strat (including the advanced ones) as separate videos.

This guide contains all keypad codes and lockpicking sequences that are used throughout the Chaos Theory speedrun. Everything's in order of usage, separated per-level.

## Bank

- Telemetric lockpick: **A-D-S-A**

## Penthouse

- Dvorak room door: **0280**

## Displace

- Air vent trapdoor: **A-S-A-W**
- Reception lobby door (after briefcase room): **8136**
- Door right after 2 guards on top floor: **2346**
- Shetland's office door: **2609**
- Exit door: **3485**

## Battery

- Door leading into the guard dorm: **1879**
- Elevator code: **1304**

## Seoul I

- Server room door: **0815**

## Bathhouse

- Private office door: **3650**

## Kokubo Sosho

- Data storage room: **1945**

Black Screen Fix

Here's a video detailing a fix I found a few weeks ago for fixing the strange screen issues found in this game, as well as fixing the resolution changes caused by cutscenes in SC1.

How to bind Interaction to the mouse wheel

You may notice that a lot of runners have interaction bound to the mouse wheel. This speeds up interrogations and hacking mini games considerably.

You cannot bind Interaction to mouse wheel in the in game menu.
Instead, you need to edit an .ini file. By default, the file is located in "C:\ProgramData\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory\Profiles\\<your-profile-name>" and it is called "<your-profile-name>.ini"
The ProgramData folder is hidden by default on Windows. An easy way to access it is to just open the Windows File Explorer and then replace the current path with %programdata% and then press Enter. See the screenshot below.

Once you are in the right directory, right click on the "<your-profile-name>.ini" file and click on "Edit".
Look for the line that includes "MouseWheelDown=" and replace it with "MouseWheelDown=Interaction" as seen in the screenshot below. If you prefer to bind it to "MouseWheelUp", just do the same thing with the line that includes "MouseWheelUp=" instead.

Make sure you correctly save the edited file linked. When you start the game in the future and choose the profile you edited the .ini file for, it will now have interaction set to the mouse wheel.

New runner readme

Black screens at mission start - there are 2 causes for this, one is not using the same resolution for both your monitor and game, the other is recording software related. As of early 2020, OBS has problems in both display capture and game capture. For Nvidia users, geforce experience is a great alternative for no recording delays.

How to use keypads without mouse - turn on numlock to use numpad keys.

How to exit computers quickly - enable night vision before using a computer and then spam crouch button.

How do people pick gadgets so fast - choosing at the start of a map causes the least time loss. The last 2 selections can be cycled by tapping gadget button (if one of them is completely used up, the other one becomes unselected as well).

Brute force hacking - this is done by repeatedly spamming the first option in the hacking menu until it is the correct solution. Either bind 'use' key to 3 different buttons and spam those, or bind scroll wheel to one of your use buttons.

Mouse acceleration when aiming - open SplinterCell3Settings and change all biasCut values to v=0.0

Seoul zipline - This one can randomly throw you off if you get close to the spot where the zipline and fence meet. The solution is to manually drop off the zipline before reaching the end.

Menus inbetween missions - to avoid having to use mouse, press tab in the briefing screen to automatically select the loadout button. The entire sequence from the mission complete screen to the start of the next mission is enter, left, enter (loading screen) enter, enter, tab, enter, enter.
