i can spin dash as hard and fast as i want but when ever i jump of fall off of something i losses all of my speed. is this my fault?
Gonna have to be a bit more specific than that, even assuming you're getting perfect spindashes it's real easy to activate speed cap in this game.
It seems most likely to me that you are holding left or right while in the air. To avoid slowing down simply hold nothing in the air.
yes. exactly what lunkhead said here. you are activating the air cap. try to release the dpad whilst in the air and press it again once you land to keep your speed.
