Hey all,
Just getting into speedrunning this game. I don't know if this is relevant to anyone, and I'm sure it's common knowledge for a lot of the runners here, but in case it isn't, here goes:
-The Mediakite version changes the difficulty if you start your game from a cleared game save file. Check out Gemini's Tweets: https://twitter.com/REBehindtheMask/status/1155251006160211970. The game decreases player weapon damage to enemies. This isn't quite equivalent to the difficulty from the original US PlayStation non-director's cut release, but it's a change.
-From my understanding, a completely new game has the same difficulty as the original Japanese PlayStation release, with the exception that Jill has no ink ribbons since she can save at any time.
I see the rules state that no NG+ runs are allowed - so does that mean if someone uses a cleared game save to start a new run, but doesn't use the infinite ammo weapons, it'd be disallowed anyway? If so what I wrote is mostly irrelevant and just an FYI!
It has come to our attention that the current version of Duckstation (v0.1-7675) runs considerably slower than earlier versions. Until we figure out what can be done to either get the current version up to speed with the other times on the board we suggest that runners use v0.1-7294, which can be fo
