I decided to buy the digital version of Pokken on internal switch storage to improve load times. Before I made this decision, I reviewed my previous personal best on cartridge with KalonCPU57's world record on digital. Kalon using digital on SD card saved a total of 30.79 seconds just from faster loading times alone.
- I made a spreadsheet you can refer to, which also includes the links for the videos: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
- Digital vs. cartridge is important for this speedrun in particular due to the amount of loading screens. Between 10%-13% of the speedrun is spent on loading screens (Closer to 10% if running digital, closer to 13% if running physical)
- I'll be giving away my physical copy for free as a gift for someone in the future :)
My goal is to get every character consistent without dropping or delaying a combo. This run, I near flawlessly completed the top and middle rows, slipped early on a few combos for the bottom row, then finished cleanly with the DLC. I also pressed the pause button too early on a couple fighters.
A Sub 18:00 time is possible, but it's going to be super tight unless we discover new tech (It'll also require you to run the digital copy of the game).
