Hey runners,

I am considering running this game as I played it a lot in my childhood. Looking at the categories and rules, I notice two emulators crop up. MelonDS and Desmume 0.9.11. I am not knowlegable on emulators at all. What's the difference between these two? And which emulator is recomended to be used? I plan to just start with Manipless Glichtless attempts if that matters.

MelonDS is the main emulator used for most Pokémon speedruns, because it emulates the Nintendo DS quite well. (It's still not perfectly accurate ; it gives emulator runners a time advantage of several tens of seconds on a 4-hour run.)

Desmume was used in the past, but it's not designed to replicate DS timing accurately, which is important for speedrunning. That’s why both emulators are not grouped in the same category.

To answer your question, i recommend going with melonDS ! ;)
