Um wow! I actually got a big PB, and also the world record. This run has haunted me for a very long time now. I've seen my peers do all these great times and despite lots of attempts, I just haven't been able to bring together a solid run. I got really invested in grinding this many months ago and then gave up. Decided to come back to this and was able to get a few minute PB which I was really not happy with. So I was determined to keep pushing until I had a PB I could finally be proud of. And here's that after some rough grinding. Wasn't even expecting world record here (and also feel a bit bad beating the legendary run of Brassbeat's that was a world record set during a live marathon run showcase. Crazy. But, someone would eventually beat it someday).
I actually get quite negative in this run. I think I'm doing alright and handling things until Warren's levels, then things really get to me by then as I have a late fail in 8-1, with my feelings amplified with a failure on 10-1 and a slow rough 11-3. I also missed 9-1 and 10-3 due to silly mistakes, levels I do with the Any% masters anyway so wasted time to redo them. However, I bring it all back with a pretty solid Zen Frog (11-5) full clear, getting it on my 3rd attempt with Cinder strat. I much prefer going Cinder strat there, despite it being less reliable than Claude strat. I feel so much more devasated to lose a Claude attempt than Cinder attempt, and the amount of effort in Claude strat is draining when it's fun to just caveman shoot at pegs with Cinder strat and hope for the best.
I think the mistakes and failures had me very close to resetting/giving up. Glad I kept going and finally achieved something big in this category.
