Conversation paths

I worked through the dialogue files of the game and found what I'm very confident are the optimal choices to take in dialogue. A plus sign means you just repeat that choice until the end.

Border guard: 14 11 31

How to navigate the guard room

The first thing about the guard room is that you may be respawned multiple times, always in the spot where you stood when you shot the guard. Optimally, you want to be as close to the desk as possible when you shoot him.

You can put tapes into the TV even from the back, which is currently the fastest way.

Once you start the animation for sliding the first VHS into the TV, you can pick up cassettes off the desk again. Pick up one or two by spamming LMB, and you will essentially have an "infinite" number of cassettes picked up. Then, before you get respawned, start mashing LMB to queue up 5-6 more cassettes. The animations will advance in tandem, and once enough cassettes have finished being read by the TV, you will exit the scene (sometimes before even respawning once).
