4-man any heroes co-op speedrun. While the hacking part is locked, payload part has only the time floor, but no time ceiling - payload doesn't move until you clear the area around it. OR14 part is speedrunnable, getting between consoles to hack is speedrunnable and gathering around payload is speedrunnable.
Please post a run on this forum, and I'll add it in. To be noted, since it's a multiplayer event AND is limited time, it will be treated as a misc. category for all purposes.
Please start timer when the timer runs out in character select. Ends on the first frame of victory. Also feel free to submit IGT but run will be based off real time.
Here it is. Done with 3 more random ppl, but i suppose it should be listed as 4-man co-op. IGT's the same, give or take a second.
Considering there's more than 1 difficulty, what difficulty is this run from? Also, don't really see having this a lot of potential considering that hacking the console and payload is both just an autoscroller, and that takes a long time. Don't really see it as a speedrun, though I don't mind having this on the leaderboards as this is a limited time event and will probably be removed afterwards (right?).
I think there should be a common difficulty and mode. So that everyone starts even. I would like it to be Legendary difficulty as it is the one requiring the most skill. As for the mode, All Heroes adds the ability to find the perfect comp while regular Uprising would be even for everyone. Also, there's a lot of room for improvement in this mode. Like if you get tracer rushing to the control points, the hacking stars earlier. Then the payload and the bosses. In legendary there would be a lot of mistakes that could cost a run. Therefore making it more challenging.
The run i recorded is Any Heroes Normal. Though i agree with Tenson in run having to be Any Heroes, i'm not sure there's a need to make it legendary - it's simply way too hard. Maybe Expert or Hard will be enough?
Legendary is very hard. That's what makes it challeging to speedrun. So maybe there could be the Legendary speedrun and the Expert speedrun? I mean, hard will not really be a challenge anymore after a week of tries.
Or we could do it just like in TF2 MVM: every level of difficulty is a different speedrun, even the easy ones, for both Uprising and All Heroes.
I will add in difficulties if people run them. There is no reason to have empty categories that nobody will ever run. Also gonna do the setup in a few hours when I get home.
So I see there's a run already. But it doesn't say which difficulty it has been achieved with. A group of friends and I are going to speedrun all difficulties. So how do we differentiate them?
Alright, I added in difficulty. Gonna also add normal uprising as a non misc category.
yep I see that. I thought the first frame of victory was when the camera focuses the last dying Orisa. That is when the in-game timer stops. So what is the rule? First frame of appearance of the word "Victory" or first frame of focus on last Orisa? Also, should we rank the runs by in-game time? Since it is the most reliable way to know the run's length.
I timed my RTA time with the first frame of Victory (or as close to it as possible).
I also support the use of IGT, as (as far as I know) once the round starts, no new areas need to be loaded. It's displayed on the screen after the PotG, so it would make videos just a tad longer. Given the lenght of the run and the things that can slow you down (ex. cart being contested) I'd be surprised if we get ties.
With Overwatch 2 finally going live, this means that our Overwatch 1 leaderboards are all pretty much legacied. All new speedruns should now be submitted to the Overwatch 2 leaderboards, here:
