This guide will help you to learn the No Fire Canyon Skip (No FCS) category for Jak & Daxter. It's recommended that you practice LTS thoroughly before watching the full route of the run, as execution of this intermediate-level trick is necessary for completing a run of this category.

Route

There are two currently used routes, the only major difference between the two is the use of two different methods for skipping the Klaww boss fight, collectively known as Klaww Skip . All of Hub 1 (pre-Fire Canyon) is the same in both routes and is focused on collecting 20 cells as fast as possible, which in the current route involves also collecting 240 orbs to purchase both Oracle cells in Sandover Village. This can be difficult to juggle for new runners, so it is recommended that you establish which orbs to collect in advance. Here is me commentating over my PB which does Lava Walk:

Idle Deload (For Beginner Runners): The slower route uses Idle Deload, which is a 100% consistent and easy to perform skip. However the use of this skip, while being slower to perform, also requires a trip to Spider Cave to collect enough health to perform LTS. This loses ~1:40 to the faster route in total. Lava Walk (For Experienced Runners): The fastest route uses Lava Walk, which is an inconsistent skip that saves just under 30s over performing Idle Deload, and crucially maintains any additional health collected by the player through the skip.
