Hello again!
I just got a new keyboard (a mechanical one) and a new mouse with more buttons than just regular 3. I wanted to ask: Is it fair play to bind some keyboard keys to them for speedrunning purposes (e.g being able to press both e and enter keys with 1 hand can speed up almost all levels, and in some, shortcuts like d,t,h are also helpful.
Binding some to mouse would be way easier to click and use.
I'd do that if it's allowed
For my opinion, I would not allow binds as it is using a feature/program outside the game to provide an advantage in a speedrun.
Under Moderation Rules in the Sites rules: https://www.speedrun.com/knowledgebase/moderation-rules
"Turbo is by default disallowed for runs unless otherwise specified in the game rules. If a game chooses to allow turbo, it should typically be tracked with a variable for the runs."
So similar to the above, I can allow it as another category and require a mouse & keyboard input UI during the run.
I also think that rebinding should consider illegal. In my runs my left hand jumps from E-D to big Enter and my right hand jumps from Mouse to small Enter and this is funny, because depending on situation you click keys with different hands.
