This really is a great route, I never understood Jason's movement in the woods that well and that was the result of other routes. So many new times have been submitted with it in the past year.

That run is way good. I think despite combination of best segments suggesting it can get down to 2:48, I don't think you could reasonably get more than 1 second shaved off that before this route has been maxed out.
I also don't think there's feasibly a better route. I spent a ton of time analyzing the data on the different seed combinations programmed into the game. I'm gonna try to start practicing again and up my PB, but I think this WR is going to be set for a very long time. GGWP!
Yeah, I think 2:50 might be possible but I don't see it going below that. I know the TAS route is quite different and even has to do a day 3 indoor big cabin fight, which is pretty gross.
Sometime last year I tried the TAS route for funsies and it’s definitely not possible with human input haha.
Yes indeed. I also tried it for funsies and couldn't get out of Day 1. haha. The Sum of Best is deceptive, because to get Jason to spawn early in the woods on day 3, you have to 4 cycle him ending in the woods on day 2. It's gross. It gives you hope because you can get like a 6 second Gold on day 3 split, But can't ever get it in an actual 3 cycle Day 2 run.
It is my personal opinion based on the knowledge I have from my research for the book combined with the additional information that slush filter provided me during his testing that a faster route is not only possible but likely. The seed that the TAS uses IS human possible based on what I know at this time however, there is a missing element to Jason's movement and triggering fight sequences while in the woods that has yet to be fully unveiled by emulator research. Day 1 was not the issue in my testing, it was Day 2. Triggering Jason in the first woods section on the second day. I am open to sharing any knowledge I have with anyone who wants to explore these elements further for WR improvement. Beyond that I have since moved on to other things and cannot put more time into Friday the 13th.
