If you submit runs on different platforms on a board, it will show the top run for each platform. For example if I were to submit a PS4, Xbox One, and PC run of a game in the Any% category, I would be shown on the Any% board 3 different times.
Is it rude / frowned upon to do this? Should I delete my previous runs so it doesn't happen? Or do people generally not care?
Generally people don’t care. You definitely don’t need to delete your previous runs.
i personally havent come accross a leaderboard where platforms dont obsolete each other but i dont necessarily see anything wrong with having a run done on every platform or something. if the runs are different enough to warrant the "platforms dont obsolete each other" option id just be confused why platforms arent put as separate categories
Ahh see that's the weird thing - the games are exactly the same on different platforms just with the exception of performance differences. Maybe I should hit up the moderators and ask?
@YUMmy_Bacon5 i think they meant about asking the moderators why platforms dont obsolete eachother
@SioN, oh. Then it's probably due to the moderators not even going through the game's settings and turning it on💀
Why isn't it on by default? What scenario would you want different platforms to not obsolete each other? If the games are different depending on platform then shouldn't they be different categories entirely?
Generally mods create separate categories for different platforms or just merge them all. In the latter case, your fastest time will be the one to be shown on the lbs. The other ones will be obsoleted.
@WanderAgro there is an option in the leaderboard settings to make it so that platforms dont obsolete each other aka one runner can have a ps4 any% and a pc any% show on the any% board for example
Why would you want multiple runs from the same user to ever appear in the same category?
It can make sense when there's a small difference between variables (or platforms), but not enough difference or interest to make it worth separating them into different categories.
I set things up like that for the different endings in Time Fcuk, since the only change in gameplay is whether or not you play through the final (33rd) level. With how few runners there are, it doesn't seem worth it to treat those endings separately, but I don't see why people shouldn't get runs listed for both if they want.
