Hello, my name is Diego and I am quite the fan of racing games. I have played almost every single racing game made for Sony home consoles plus quite a few PC exclusives.
I would love to become a speedrunner of certain racing games that I think can become very entertaining since their mechanics or just sheer difficulty can be very entertaining. I will answer any questions you want to ask.
I'm interested to see a racing game speed run. I've seen games with some racing sections and such and there were some pretty nifty glitches exploited. I would be curious about what a full racing game speed run would look like. What game/games are you thinking?
As far as I know the games I am interested in speed running do not have major glitches but they have split paths and are fairly unknown so there could be some competition. They are the two PS2-era games based around the Dakar Rally. On the first one you have 10 days divided into 4 sectors each plus 4 extra stages set in the desert. The thing here is that almost every sector has some kind of split path plus in quite a few of them you can cut the course by a few seconds. The interest would be to explore the best path possible, the biggest shortcuts and then also get the best possible route for the navigation stages (you can go straight but it is quite obvious it is never the perfect way). On the sequel you only have like 12 short stages but and this time the interest also comes from the multiple paths plus the ability to tune your vehicle. If the speedruns are centered on in-game time (both games have a total timer to decide who wins the race) you could also have a search for maximum efficiency by tuning. Check out my Youtube channel and you will see a preview of what those two rather awful games can offer.
