Some bigger changes and additions have been made for the Primal speedrunning.

What is new:

Loads Removed Time

From now on, new runs will be timed with loads removed. On PC there is Load Remover available with LiveSplit. It is mandatory to use this if you want loads removed. If you don't use Load Remover, your RTA will be submitted as LRT. With console runs, the runner can provide a timestamp of all loading screens, and a moderator will then verify LRT.

For current runs, load times have been removed from the top runs of each category, and also from personal bests if the run already includes LRT information. We have no plans to manually remove loads from old runs.

With load times removed, campfire teleports and loading last checkpoint become more important even when the effect is small.

Platforms will stay on one leaderboard

At some point there was talks about separating PC and console. We have however decided to not do this. The community is small, and most new runs are on PC, so separating wouldn't be worth the effort. PC will stay as the best platform to reach top times, but a skilled player can put a good time on the boards on console too, especially with load times removed.

DLC removal mod

Most DLCs are not allowed on runs. This has been a problem on PC where you cannot uninstall DLCs (at least on Ubisoft Connect). Now there is a new mod that will remove the effect of the banned DLCs. So if you have been unable to do speedruns due to having DLCs, your time to shine has come!

The mod has been tested with Ubisoft Connect only, but it should work the same if you play via Steam. It is not manipulating with your DLC permissions and rights or uninstalling them; it is modifying the game itself and changing the amount of things the game tries to give you. It should be completely safe to use and its effect disabled if you remove it. Still, you use the mod at your own risk. We cannot be held responsible if something happens. Back up the original files.

New category: All Bonfires

A new category has been added. Similarly to All Outposts, this run starts after Deep Wounds. The goal is to claim all 16 bonfires. Some neat Out of Bounds jumps are needed to reach external valleys without having to progress the story. Due to these jumps, the run may not be suitable for beginners. However, slower and easier jumps to reach the areas exist too.

We want all categories to stay competitive. That's why in a small community new categories are rarely added. All Bonfires has been requested often so I'm happy it's here now.

The name of some categories has been changed. On LiveSplit you'll have to select the category again for these.

old: Kill Ull and Batari

new: Great Beast Hunts

old: All Legendary Beasts

About timing

Most categories have manual (no Autosplitter) start and end time. Moderators will verify the correct time. For this purpose, it is better to start the timer a moment earlier than the run rather than a moment after the run has started. Similarly, it is better to end the timer a moment after the run has ended rather than a moment before.

For All Outposts you can use Autosplitter's SlowMotion option to get 100 % accurate end time. For All Bonfires you can use Autosplitter's 16th bonfire option to get an approximately correct end time.

Save files

There are now save files available for All Outposts and All Bonfires on PC. It is not mandatory to use these exact save files; you can create your own, as long as it follows the rules of those categories. On console, you unfortunately have to start a new game and play through intro every time you want to make a run.
