Due to request from the community, the rules regarding pausing have been updated to be more strict while also being more explicit about what is or isn't allowed. These changes are now in effect and can be viewed in the game rules. These changes include explicitly defining for what purposes pausing/quitting out is allowed and when it may result in runs being disqualified.
For this reason, there is now more responsibility on the runners to make sure they only pause in permitted circumstances, but we are hopeful that it will overall be a benefit to the community by allowing more consistency in whether runs get rejected since it won't be done on a case by case basis by the moderators anymore. If you are a new runner, we do recommend not pausing at all unless you've made sure you are pausing for an explicitly allowed reason.
