DMC3 Vergil NG Normal

This is the route for Devil May cry 3 Vergils story New Game on Normal Difficulty.In many ways it is exactly like the Dante Route made by SDRuk,but it is different in many ways as well.
 
Info you need to know:
 
During this  whole run you need to know how to JC(Jump Cancel) either fluently or good enough for you to get in 3-4 JC's before touching the ground.There is a secret for doing the JC's in this game and that is, in order to do a JC really easy you have to be above the enemy itself so when you use starfall you will bounce off of their heads before going back in the air.(Abdomens for the Arachne)
 
-Melee Switch
You can switch out weapons mid-combat to combo weapons together, for example you can combo the three Rebellion slices into a Cerberus full combo and back again, infinitely for a good boost in style. Helps to cancel out recovery frames after each combo.
 
DTE – Devil Trigger Explosion
Charging the runes of the Devil Trigger to release a massive and maximum damage explosion that damages all foes or significantly damages each boss. More runes being charged is equal to more damage, hence why upgrading purple orbs are so important.
 
JC – Jump Cancelling
Essentially allows you to infinitely juggle or attack a stationary foe by cancelling out the reset animation and allowing you to reset your jump by jumping off said foe. Very useful against pawns and all of the hells.
 
The Run:
 
Mission 1- Exactly the same as Dantes, You must get an S or SS rank on this mission, and that can be done by switching weapons in the middle of combos to keep your style meter up.Since vergils taunts are extremely slower than Dantes but gives you a style up it is worth it.I only suggest using Beowulfs taunt between the waves since it is the fastest taunt than using the Yamato and the Force Edge/Yamato combo.
 
Mission 2- You must S or SS rank this mission as well which you do by doing the exact same thing that you do in the first mission until the boss,Also you must collect all of the orbs that the lesser demons drop to get the S rank.Now fighting the Hell vanguard is really simple,what you want to do is wait until he swings his scythe towards you.As soon as he starts the swing jump over his head and start to JC him about 4 times then land on the ground and taunt.(Repeat until dead)
 
Mission 3- At the start of this mission you should have over 15,000 red orbs,use those to upgrade Vergils starfall on beowulf for extra damage during the JC's.The enemies in the Dance club are easy to beat,JC all of them while spamming Summoned swords to get the most damage(If you can't spam the swords while doing the JC, it is not necessarily needed but it does save about a good 5-10 seconds on the fight.)With the upgraded Starfall the Hell Prides will get killed with one JC while the Hell Sloths will be killed in about 3.On your way to Cerberus get the Red Orb Crystal for later on
 
Cerberus-This fight is slightly harder with vergil since you can't break Cerberus's shield fast but keep spamming the Summoned Swords at his head while occasionally running up and slashing at his head to knock off more of his Ice armor.When his Armor is off run up to him and jump slash at him with Yamato until he falls down.Then go into your DT and switch between Yamato and Beowulf to get him to about Half of his health before he recovers.If he does not fall down do not worry,just go into DT and Jump slash his face and try to get in as much damage as you can.Repeat this until he is dead
 
Mission 4- I don't explain where to go in missions If you have unlocked vergil then I expect you to know exactly what you are doing in these missions.
 
Gigapede- Very Easy boss,try getting on his head and attacking him in DT while switching from Force Edge to Beowulf to deal maximum damage to him.
 
Mission 5- You should have over 20,000 orbs at this point, so before the mission starts purchase Spiral swords and then purchase a Purple Orb(You should have enough from getting the Red Orb Crystal)Go through the mission like normal.
 
Agni and Rudra- Parry Agni or Rudra using Lunar Phase(Beowulf ability)it doesn't matter which one you attack first since you will be doing the same damage to both of them.Once one is stunned summon your spiral swords and just attack them with beowulf only while mixing in Rising sun and starfall to deal more damage then your standard combo.Leave one of them with a sliver of health and focus your attention on the other one but be careful when you activate spiral swords, since it does so much damage to them if Agni/Rudra walk up behind you while you are attack Agni/Rudra you could end up killing him and activate their super phase.
 
Mission 6- The Trials are pretty simple only go for the Orange and the Purple Trials.To dodge the spikes easily that come at you from out of the ground do a High Jump and press O when the spikes are under you to hover in the air for a few more moments and skip over them.Bring the two stones back to artimis to blow up the boulders, then continue your way to the end of the mission.
 
Mission 7- An easy mission to find your way through,go to the library first(Bottom Floor) Then go to the top and carry out the mission like normal.If you have enough Red Orbs pick up another Purple Orb from the shop and proceed to Vergil.
 
Vergil 1- The same exact strats as you do with Dante 9 hits with Beowulf/Yamato taunt and dodge his retaliating attack and repeat.(WARNING DO NOT USE FORCE EDGE: It does little damage to Vergil and one press of the sword attack does 2 swings)
 
Mission 8- Before the mission starts you should be able to upgrade starfall again, but if you can't you can wait until before the Leviathans heart or before Mission 9.Make your way through the level like normal until you reach the Heart.
 
Leviathans Heart- Same exact strat as Dante,go for the Right artery and when the heart opens up attack with both Beowulf and yamato to get maximum damage output on him.Repeat until dead
 
Mission 9- Go through the mission normally and if you didn't upgrade starfall now is the time to do it.Arachne's can be JC'D if you jump above them and use starfall,and since you have it upgraded you will kill them in 3-4 JC's
 
Nevan- This fight is the second hardest in the game.Break her bat shield as fast as possible by using Yamato and Beowulf combos.When she is open use the spiral sword technique and do combos on he until she retaliates.Then Repeat until dead(If you do not have enough DT to use Spiral Swords then jump above her and JC her as much as you can.)
 
Mission 10- Go through the mission normally, when you get to the shielded enemies (Forgot their names) one starfall will kill them if you upgraded it, which you should have by this point.
 
Mission 11- Pick up a small Vital star if you feel uncomfortable about fighting Beowulf.Go through the mission normally until you reach Beowulf.
 
Beowulf- This boss fight is easy essentially,just hit him in the Eye with Yamato then switch to Beowulf and try to JC his head(Pretty Hard to do but becomes easier with practice and does an extreme amount of damage since you are hitting his eye over and over again.It is very possible to one cycle him with DTE)When he goes into his next phase just run up next to him and slash at him with Yamato until he is stunned then repeat the whole strat over again.
 
Mission 12- This mission is just about JC'ing the enemies(You can skip the room with all of the Blood Bat demons without fighting them. Once you get to the final room in the mission before Greyon repeat the Hell Vanguard strat from mission 2.
 
Greyon- Pretty easy fight, During his first phase shoot your swords at him and then wait until he stops on the bridge(After the fourth time he rushes at you)the run up and punish him with yamato until it brings you to his second phase.His second phase is literally just like Dantes strat. Jump on the back of the carriage and use DTE while switching your combos from Beowulf to yamato.
 
Mission 13-Very short mission, get the Orihalcon and run towards the vergil 2 boss fight.
 
Vergil 2- Another simple boss fight although it can be tricky at times just do the vergil 1 strat and you will be fine.
 
Mission 14- Since you do not have to pick up the Beowulf just run straight towards the style statue and get the ranking it wants you to get and then continue the mission like normal.
 
Mission 15-(The trickiest of all of the mission, I will be explaining how to do and when to change the switches for this mission only)The fallen Angels are really tricky and are filled with RNG, the best and fastest way to take them out is to break their shield with Yamato then use starfall to kill them in about 3 hits(You should have Darkslayer Level 2 by now which allows you to do Up Air which is very useful if the fallen angels are to high out of your reach.)Then make your way to the door that has just been unlocked
As soon as you go through the door, you’re at the Devil Sprout lift – go immediately past this and to the other door. Jump up on top and you’ll get extra orbs that honestly don’t take that long to smash. Charge attack off the roof and you’ll instantly be at the bottom of the steps (use Beowulf's and Yamato Melee Switch). You can also jump under Leviathan’s eyes for a huge orb drop. So hit the wheel and head to the Provision’s Storeroom with the spiders! Hit the wheel and the green segment should be facing down. You’re at Gears of Madness, just go through and grab the Orihalcon fragment. Hit it until the purple one is facing down and then go back and do the rounded pathway, ignore the enemies. Activate the wheel once again at the end of the path and red needs to be down. You’ll be at the provision’s storeroom where you can skip the spiders and grab the fragment. Go back through the tri-coloured door and you’ll be at the Top Sub Lack or whatever it’s called.  From here, hit it until purple is down the bottom and then go enter the blue door. Get that and go back, make sure purple is down go through that Tri-colored door and then you’re good to finish the level.
 
Mission 16- To break the ball to unlock the golden sun switch,the easiest/fastest way to break it is to jump on it and use the standard Beowulf combo.To get the moon shard use the Force Edge Helm breaker after hitting both of the switches to drop the Balls and make them slam into each other.Take out the Fallen Angels as quickly as possible then head to the lady fight.
 
Lady- Pure RNG fight,When you get close to her hit her with Beowulf and activate spiral swords during the combo to do maximum damage to her.Repeat this fight and Use DTE when you can if you need some health but other than that use spiral swords since they do more damage.
 
Mission 17- Platform your way up to the top,this is extremely hard with vergil since he does not have Airhike nor does he have trickster so it is going to be more difficult.
 
Doppelganger- It’s an easy enough fight to do. Just ensure that you are hitting the lights twice and then doing the Helm Breaker on the light and just go to town on him. If he is targeting a light you’re close enough to during his shadow ball attack, you can absolutely parry it back but don’t focus too much on this as it does not seem to happen too often. As soon as all six lights are lit, just go to town on him with your DT and Beowulf or Yamato.
 
Mission 18- Immediately as this mission starts, you’re thrown into the infamous Chess section. Try and eliminate the pawns and castles as fast as possible with the JC technique using Beowulf and you’ll likely need to take out the horses, too. Then just wail on the King for all the damage using the JC technique and he’ll go down quick and the section is done.
 
You need to fight Cerberus, Agni and Rudra and Beowulf again.So use all of the strats for these fights that are on earlier in the notes.
 
Mission 19- Go through the mission as quick as possible and before entering the Arkham fight buy one Purple Orb and as much Holy waters and Vital stars as you can.
 
Arkham- you just want to do Spiral Swords and wail on him with Beowulf combos until he summons his piranha demon things jump and attack with Yamato  to kill them as quick as you can then repeat.(This phase should be done in 2 cycles)Now the second phase is by far the hardest phase in this fight since you can't go into DT and heal,this is where the Holy Waters  come into play.Use all of the Holy waters you have in stock to finish him off and if he doesn't die he should be 1 or 2 combos away from death.
 
Mission 20- Do the same exact strats for Vergil 1 and 2 to to loop him and when he is in his DT you can summon the spiral swords and then go into DT and combo him after he attacks to knock him out of his DT real quick.
