New Sub Category Idea?

So with all the different games, the quickest way to do them is just to do them on easy and beat the game like that. However, since there is a medium and hard difficult, maybe we should have sub categories for the different difficulties, since that would add more strategy to some of the games, since some of them on easy simply devolve into pressing the button faster.

This sounds good to me. If I have time tomorrow, I will take a look at all of the different difficulties for each game. I just want to make sure that there is a noticeable difference between difficulties (it's probably fine but you never know with these cheap licensed games lol).

I did not have enough time to look at each game yet, but I have some results for the categories that already have runs.

Daisy Derby: On easy, the solutions require between 1-4 letters. On medium, the solutions require between 3-7 letters. On hard, the solutions require between 4-8 letters. This seems like a good candidate for having a sub category for each difficulty.

Tic-Tac-Toe: On easy, you can win with only 3 moves (the computer opponent doesn't really think logically). On medium and hard, you can win with only 4 moves (the computer seems to always block you if you try to go for a 3 move win), and there seems to be no difference between these difficulties. I will test some more, but this seems like easy can be it's own sub category, but medium and hard will be the same.

Four Scoops: On all three difficulties, you can get the same exact RNG that I get in my 25.482 run. The only difference I am seeing is that on easy, the game suggests a drop spot for each move. With the best RNG pattern, this means that you never have to input left or right. On medium and hard, your turn starts with the scoop appearing in the same spot as your last move. I want to test this some more before I say for certain, but this will probably be the same as Tic-Tac-Toe where easy gets its own sub category while the other two difficulties are the same.

I will keep reporting back what I find.

Cool, keep up the good work! Also, I thought of another category to speedrun, the You Win!%. Basically it's to get the You Win screen on every game that has it.

That would be a neat idea. So far that would be D.J. Booth, Tic-Tac-Toe, Four Scoops, Checkers, Daisy Derby and Gems & Jewels. We found out that although Conga Line ends, it technically doesn't have a You Win screen, and I believe Bubble Machine is the same (gotta verify that though). I'm also 99.9% sure that the Groove & Move game never ends. I feel like a You Win!% category would attract runners that would rather play the full game, and this is probably the best solution to that. A longer version of the category could include playing out Conga Line and Bubble Machine until they end, but in honesty I could see Bubble Machine being too long and boring.

As for right now, I have added difficulties for Tic-Tac-Toe, Four Scoops and Daisy Derby. I'm working on putting up times for all of those today, then I'll look into the difficulties for the other categories and then maybe I'll verify all the win conditions for a You Win!% category.
