Currently in the ruleset under disallowed glitches:
Cake Bowl Glitch in 1.2.0, a glitch was added where adding cake batter mixed in a bowl to a tray/pan with at least 1 serving would consume the bowl and batter, while creating a single additional item.
The original rationale for ruling this a disallowed glitch was because the PlateUp! devs promised to quickly patch this bug. This patch has been out for over half a year, and this glitch still has not beeen patched - I just recreated it earlier today to check.
The cost of banning this glitch is not inconsequential. Unlike the other disallowed glitches, this gltich is highly reproducible, to the point runners have to actively play to avoid accidently triggering it, both in layout design and execution during the day. This compounds with how high variance many Cake categories are (Turbo, Lake, and Autumn all requiring significant RNG for a passable, not even competitive run), making these categories more painful to run than they already are.
I advocate that we should bring this back for a community vote to either maintain or remove this rule. I believe the original ruling was not up to a community vote - very reasonably to avoid a potential board split discussion, since a hotfix was promised and there are real time save implications that this glitch provides.
Edit: I intended to rename the title to Request to remove the Cake Bowl Glitch after finding the glitch name in the ruleset, got distracted halfway through, and... I didn't double check that. If anyone knows how to update that, please let me know :')
Referencing the rules on what's considered a solo run -
Player count is defined as the number of inputs. Additional player characters spawned during the course of a run (Start of Day 1 to End of Day 15) are not allowed.
Any change to player count (including any additional name plate appearance, disconnecting, adding, or removing inputs) during a day before all customers have been called/spawned will require the day to be restarted (returning to lobby, and re-entering the restaurant through the save table.)
Since player count is only described as player count in the number of inputs, rather than by unique inputs, never had a plate appearance during the day, and never had more than two players spawned during the run, this is technically a solo speedrun.
There is past precedent with Ambersz doing the opposite, by using multiple inputs from a single player to run a larger category -
Extra Milk -> Individual Dining -> High Standards -> Latte -> Affordable -> Cake Stand -> Ice Cream -> Photographic Memory -> Iced Coffee -> High Quality -> Personalized Waiting -> Splash Zone -> High Expectations -> Extra Sugar
