So I just completed a recon run of the game and what I believe to be any% (trigger credits in street racing). I'm confused by what was done and is listed as any% when they appear to be 100% runs?

"Global Challenge" mode unlocks after the credits as well after you're crowned "World Champion".

Thanks.

It does not loop after each round/level. As stated above: There's a significant alteration of the difficulty and new challenges. It is not possible to 'king only' past the first level, and unless you manipulate an extensive amount, you'll need to use a lot of strategy!

It does use mostly the same sprites and layout though. It's a pretty old earlier 80s game that was ported to Famicom.

It also adds a mark after each level you win. The marks stop after 6. I forget if you get 'level 1 again' or 'level 6 forever' after completing the last new board or if the game actually ends.

It's been some time and I'd like to get back to it but I've not had the time.

Game natively supports 'auto fire' as an option.

This would make one think any% would not have a restriction, and another category 'no turbo any%' would be more clear, especially to new players.

Was not aware I had control over that and I do not receive notifications for forum posts.

It's been adjusted to include FC, Sharp, and MSX for accuracy. (If anyone submits a run for the other machines, I'll add another leaderboard for each)

The game repeats after that. There's additional features on each loop that add to difficulty. It's not possible, for instance, to king only round 2 as there's mines on the ground and they guard the castle entrance. Your king's max power is also reduced as well.

Actual time is about 6:20.8. Nice run.

Please note I made a slight change to the rules just so new players can see it. These are strong suggestions and runs will not be instantly rejected by not doing them. Do not feel obligated to spend money on this (such as a split input for Everdrive) or if you have a Retroarch cabinet/setup you wish to use, etc.

I hope they will help avoid ambiguity or issues that may develop as emulation and speedrunning evolve over the years.

What I changed: If you can display inputs, that's useful to help validate runs. Please avoid using Retroarch if you can. FCEUX and Mesen work quite well and have tools to help validate runs.

This will help with validating runs, especially as they become faster. Should there be an issue with validating runs in the future, this will help address potential problems that are not known currently.
