I posted in the Main Site thread about moderation requests stuff. I didn't mention removing the other guy though. I could edit my comment to include that. Also I linked this thread there.

So I asked for modship on The Turing Test, but the active moderator on the game isn't a super mod. The only super mod hasn't been online on this website for almost an year. I'd like to be added as a super mod for the game then. The old super mod should probably be removed, since he barely did any work on the game and its leaderboard. So whenever I play this game, I get some quite long loads because I have a lower end PC. I also get some loading screen inbetween sector because of that. So I would like to ask if the timing standard could be changed from RTA to time without loads.

I offer myself to retime the current runs and update the times if get modded.

So I was thinking about picking up this game and I noticed that kickflipping has to do with the game's framerate. I was wondering how low can your framerate be to be able to do all the kickflips in the run, because I have a lower end PC, so I can't quite run the game at 120fps all the time. I average around 60-70, but it fluctuates up and down depending on the chamber.

It personally helped me when i was trying to get the Bridge the Gap CM strat down. If I got it right like 3 times in a row i would up the timescale by 0.1. It can be helpful to get started on some stuff.

if you want to vote for a specific campaign, you can do "callvote ChangeMission L4D2CX", where X is the campaign number. if you plan on running the full game categories, i recommend using the vote cycler that is on the Resources page. with it, you can always vote for the next campaign on the run by pressing the same key.

When you bounce on boxes, your kill/bounce goes up just like when you do it with enemies. You only get rewards when you kill enemies though (like when you kill 5 enemies in a row you get a life). So you bounce up until 200 (be it by bouncing on a box or bouncing on enemies), which is when the game starts giving you crystals. To keep the counter from resetting when you hit the floor, you spin and either jump or crouch when the spin ends. So then you just need to kill enough enemeis to give you the right amount of crystals. Why the game gives you crystals i don't really know, but that's how you execute it.

So when you die in single player, the demo finishes recording. How do you properly restart recording without missing a game tick?

Tell him to check on the dev console if "joystick" is set to 1. If it is, he needs to set it to 0. If that doesn't solve it, then idk.

There's a link for download in our Discord server, in the #resources channel. Invite link: https://discord.gg/HHJcT5C . You can ask us anything else on the server.

unless you have an analog that maps d-pad inputs, then its fine. zigzag is effective on that. otherwise it's not really good

Updated the splitter to v1.4.2 (v1.4.1 was never published for real so i just skipped it). The updates are:

-Changed the way the autosplitter finds the current game version. -Added support for version 2.0.0.0. -Added support for version 2.0.1.2.

keep in mind that there's a 2.0.0.8 fix that you need to download to extract that on the directory you extract the 2.0.0.8 download

I think that the bi-weekly challenges could also be used to give attention to some categories that are lost in time. Might not be as appealing, but it could be fun like bringing attention to some of the custom campaigns or something. I agree with everything said, pretty much.

I just found this link regarding hosting servers on the Steam Support page: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5452-TASB-6078

The info on the page even mentions how there's no other way to launch a listen server on L4D, so you must use the map command. So that gets rid of the doubts that I had about this command being intended to be used.

Paraná, Brazilbill_play37 years ago

I'll repeat the arguments I presented on Discord here. The map command feels like an intended way of playing the game, since it's the only way to launch a listen server, which seems to be something that the devs expected from the players. That being said, and considering that I don't know of any other way to launch a listen server, the map command just feels like another option to launch a server, even though using the menu is the most straightforward one. If launching a new server on the menu was just as quick as launching a server with the map command through a key binding, bypassing the vote creation timer would be simply a clever idea, so I don't think that bypassing the vote creation timer is a real problem.

The only problem is knowing if launching a listen server is really something expected and intended for the players to use, but as I said, I think it is.
