Great! Like I said, I've already completed the run. I'll have it highlighted on Twitch about a week to a week and a half from now and will submit it to you then.
Hello Rival Turf team!
I very recently completed a deathless run of Rival Turf! I believe there should be a category for deathless runs on the Rival Turf! leaderboards.
Here is an example of what I have in mind:
https://www.speedrun.com/aldynes_the_misson_code_for_rage_crisis
Setting it up like this would also allow for deathless Flak/Norton runs, deathless Nelson/Bild runs and deathless co-op runs.
Thank you for your help!
So here’s a confession. I’m not so much a speedrunner as I am someone who likes to figure out how to get 1ccs and deathless runs in video games. Coincidentaly you can get good times in some video games if you don’t die.
While Shredder’s Revenge is a new game, I believe it would be a good time to make sure deathless was its own sub-category, so that runners who play solo or co-op can compete for how quickly they can beat the game without dying even once.
The easiest way to add Deathless as a sub category would be to make a choice between Any% and Deathless. Players who accomplish the feat can then submit their run to both sub categories.
The longer we wait, the more runs get added, and the harder it would be to implement that change.
Hello The Retro Challenger and R-Type community!
I would like to request creating two new categories/sub-categories for R-Type (SMS), and I want to explain why.
-
R-Type (TG-16) Despite looking similar to the arcade and SMS versions, R-Type for the TG-16 actually has more bosses than any other version of the game! There’s an extra boss that pops up at the end of stage 6. For that reason, R-Type for the TG-16 is different enough that it deserves to be in its own category.
-
R-Type (PC Engine) In Japan, the original R-Type was split into two video games, called R-Type I and R-Type II. R-Type I contains stages 1-4, while R-Type II contains stages 5-8. That means people playing the Japanese version of R-Type on the TG-16 would only need to complete half of the game to complete the run! For this reason, R-Type for the PC Engine would also need to have its own list.
What are your thoughts? I would love to see these new categories get created so that the hard work of all R-Type players could be recognized!
I’m surprised there isn’t one listed here for people who have cleared the game tbh. Not that I ever expect it to fill. But having the list available would give the Crush community hope.
