Hi, sorry for the slow response, I don't check these boards very often.

One really nice thing about this game is that the routing is very flexible. So for any% you can do a wide variety of stars depending on which screen you might struggle with more than others. The best thing to do would be to just play around and get comfy with shots on important screens to get where you're trying to go.

In 100% you still have a lot of flexibility in routing because you have to go to each world twice at minimum to do the red coin stars. When I routed 100% the only really big thing was ordering the boss rematches at the end to be as efficient with item use as possible. When you beat one of the boss rematches you unlock a double item box that has a good use for one of the other bosses.

Another thing is if you lose your ball at any point, all of the item boxes reset, so you could lose your ball at any point to go back and grab an item box again if you mess up a screen.

hi, sorry this is a 9 month late reply, i don't really check these :) i came up with the rules for categories when i first routed this game and nobody had ran it before lol

we considered any% to be beating stage #100, which means you need to complete any 90 stages before then since you earn skips for every 10 stages you complete. we also allow the "stronger koishi mode" which you access from the pause menu which gives her infinite health, but requires activating each level with a restart, so it's not faster to use unless it makes the level significantly faster.

100% would require beating all 120 stages with the symbol you get when you beat the goal time in each level, making more sweets spawn from the present.

all stages would be identical except wouldn't require the goal times for extra sweets.

also would be reasonable to add an option for runs without use of the "stronger koishi mode" for any% and all stages (wouldn't be useful for 100%).

i never really routed or ran the other categories, only theorized them, and there hasn't really been any other interest in this game since, but if anyone else wants to run this game i have some basic notes i made way back if anyone is interested :)

not sure if anyone else ever attempted the GBA version, i never saw anyone mention it apart from a single message in one of the posts here.

well i was digging through some old stuff and i remembered i did a run of the GBA version back in 2017. 4 of us actually blind raced the game and then i did a second run of it afterwards to attempt to optimize it a little better.

i know there's not a category for it here but if anyone is interested in the gameplay or the route, i'll post the video. it's extremely different from the console versions lol

also i only ever did one actual run of this, i had interest in doing more at the time but never came back to it, so there's obviously tons of improvements, i barely knew anything about tech in the game. i know there is some possible lag reduction for some screens but that's about as much as i researched really.
