another bug to report. As I cannot provide screen shots in feedback and bug reports (WHY?), enjoy this. For some reason, I can no longer add PSNow as a system for this game. The URL is R_3, Which SHOULD be unique since it was made on the old system.
When trying to highlight text on some src pages to update text, there is no visible feedback received indicating the text in question has been highlighted. For example in the below image I have highlighted the following text: tube.com/watch?v=tHvk-C5Br5
Found another site bug for yall. I cant explain it so here's a video.
Update is done!
Ill start updating the boards tomorrow for yall. Bare with us during this transitional period.
I don't believe MGS as a community at current aims for accuracy as much as they do accessibility.
With that in mind, I think opening up the option of emulator for anyone to run and submit to on this board is fine. I suggest this comes with a list of recommended settings, however I see no reason to enforce settings beyond a certain reasonable point.
However as the emulator is not accurate, I do insist it be compared to only itself, and thus separated from console times into a separate sub category entirely.
I suggest maintaining SS/MS as the head category, and applying the PS3/EMU sub category to both primary categories.
These same changes would be reflected accordingly on the CE board.
I am not in favor of ILs being compared any more than full game being compared
One last thing I noticed and forgot to comment on. The ability to @ other site users in run comments, descriptions, and guides was removed and I'm not sure why.
Im not even gunna edit the above post again. This speaks for itself.
Following up on my post above, I physically can't even fix the posts because of this error. Why the hell is there an arbitrary limit to text guides now? Why should we continue supporting this guide feature if we can't even make useful good looking guides anymore? In addition, the old table formatting system made with hashtags (#) has been entirely and completely removed. WHY?
some guides were completely destroyed in formatting by the change over to the new html text system, causing old tables to lose the enter key presses and compile into gibberish. This being a tame example. Trying to rectify this formatting is turning into a nightmare as the unordered list function seems to randomly pick and choose what text you are referring to and assume that its all one list. CTRL+Z doesn't work and when you click unordered list again to undo the programs dumb decision, it undoes EVERYTHING forcing you to still end up manually inserting breaks just to add the unordered list back in again
When editing rules for "values" and presumably other area, its physically impossible to scroll the screen down to edit rules below a fixed point without using ctlr minus. As you can see I have no scroll bar to view anything below this point. And no the scroll from HTML mode does not fix this.
Of course!
While I am no expert on PC games, I see no problem accepting and implementing a LRT timing method for PC runs, provided the LRT plugin is made public to all available runners. I'd like to see a test video to make sure the splitter is in working order before officially signing off on this, but I give you full blessings to move forward!
A word of warning though, the use of an autoclicker and alt+tab is allowed for runs of this game on PC as it can save time. This should be counted as game time and not loading.
Didnt there use to be a PPSSPP Full game run?
Yes there did. It was removed at some point but ppsspp is valid
communication is the key to success. Ill raise this clarification point.
Edit: We will be changing the name of the IL category to "Non S-Rank"
Thank you for pointing out the above issue.
'But PW IL's rules say you can only submit to Any% if your S-Rank run is faster than your Any% run. '
I'm not sure where you read this. The rule says don't submit S-Rank times to the Any% category. Reason being, they are completely different categories.
'In order to claim WR...' if the run in 1st is (un)optimized to the point this works then we see no problem with this. Perfectly valid submission. However, that's not how most any% runs are done. You just do S-Rank but faster and not kill anyone or take an alert to get an A rank, which is what most any% runs currently are, faster S-Ranks.
I purposely phrased them this way since It was agreed by the old mods that S-Rank submissions should be separated from non-S-Rank. I could not think of a better nomenclature. In a way, you could think of this as harking back to the Rank-One days if you like, but S-Rank is more akin to a challenge run, or even a no major skips run, than it is a Rank-One run. It was due to this that both S-Rank and Any% are displayed separately on the boards in fact, unlike some other metal gear series games where time is the only thing that matters nowadays, regardless of rank.
IMO it would be pointless to debate over nomenclature since a word can mean many things when given different contexts. And in the case of PW "Any%" means "Fastest Possible Time Completion Regardless of Rank Restriction Items and Comms." But I assure you, it's not a dump hole for "runs that died on good pace", it is a separate category entirely, that uses significantly more resources and different strategies to accomplish a fastest time, without respect to the end rank. A good comparison within the series already is VR2's Fastest Time vs Highest Score.
