Nice find! Its been long enough since I played this to know right off the bat if this helps, but that's cool at the very least.
I am fine with the restriction on watching the solutions, but it should be faster doing it yourself long term. Whatever is fine. Thanks!
At some point the creators of the game added a normal difficulty and made the original game hard mode. Could we get categories for 100% and Any% hard mode? Hard mode mainly changes the last few puzzles a bit so it should not affect soft lock % at all.
Hi,
So I'm planning out a run of this game, and noticed that the 100% category requires killing all enemies. Seeing as the game does not track this for its only consideration of what 100% is on the file selection screen, is this rule super necessary? Just seems like a pain for reviewers to track as there is no check that can occur to say whether this was actually done or not. I will do it if necessary but It seems like a more manageable run for reviewing and playing if we did not have that requirement.
If anyone feels like running the game and wants a category added, let me know here.
And ya, you should totally make it back to the game some day. as it stands I think with the new way to do the teleport glitch I found last night, getting good RNG on the Fear of Rain Mission, and not making like, any mistakes, a sub 31 might be possible right now. I don't think it can get to sub 30 without some new tricks though.
Thanks, no worries. I am gonna post some stuff soon about the various glitches in the game.
Hey man, its been a few weeks since you have been on here, want to just make me a mod of this? I kind of want to add a Glitchless any% category as well as make there be any% for easy mode (now that the game had difficulties) that is separate from the current any percent mode. Easy mode makes it so you take 3 hits to kill, so its a very different run (that I have not done and don't really intend to do). I'm also gonna post some guides on certain glitches soon. Particularly I just found a way to get the teleporter glitch to work on Protocol 42, letting you do it even though the cut scene stops my previous method at accomplishing this (new method also makes the cut scene glitch out with the ground disappearing, which is funny).
FYI i have no idea if I can or how to remove a run, but I keep doing runs and beating my own time, and I would remove the other submitted runs but I can't seem to.
I can probably do that, figured no one was really paying attention here as it had been almost a year since your run.
Not sure if you are still interested as its been a long time since you posted this, but really this game is pretty easy to speedrun if you just practice and get comfortable shooting. There are some tricks though that are not in the posted video. If you go to my youtube I have a few runs for the Any% that I am waiting to have verified here that use two glitches to allow teleportation when you normally are not allowed to (this is as easy as hitting the button to bring up the teleport screen the moment after you accept a mission) and another glitch that lets you fly by throwing bananas while having a shield equipped.
