It seems small, but its very different competitively when people can come to the site see the categories rather than someone has to come in and go through filters.
It also doesn't show up on the site as a 1st through 3rd or even the correct place on your profile natively if it's a filtered category. Someone who is third in no major shows 13th on their profile using Tavin as an example.
Resident evil 1 has a drop-down category for glitchless and glitched that does the same thing as the filter but also keeps it as a proper category on your profile. It makes a huge difference for optics and newcomers. Awhile back there was only 1 or 2 real major skips/glitches but now the difference is only bigger.
I'll get one up - not happy with the time - its just "different enough" if not though happy to just submit it here. heres a link to a test run i did. Was just doing an offline "play" and timing it. I got hard trolled by the turkey in the first level dont hate me lol.
Its popular enough at this point and per the discord discussions it's probably time to set an official start and end timing spot/some rules - but also enforcing milliseconds as the times get pretty neck and neck. Thoughts on putting together a small agreed on list? - The sonic 1 sms board is probably a good reference point.
Any chance there could be an amiga version included? Runs a bit different for better and worse depending what.
Just noticed they were added! only other request is maybe a filter/category to sort by the two versions of it? otherwise thank you!
I thnk its a mix of some of the extra modes, music, and a condensed version. The anthology is just all of them and lots of them, the flashback is a condensed original bunch. ill double check tho
Appreciate the input Xatrixx - if its not feasible here would love to know how to get something like that going - or maybe we could start it - i know its not a popular game these days - but its definitely a whole different experience between the versions (I love my moonstone, disposable hero, swif, amiga games) but its completely different!
Is there any chance to have a sub category for these since they control substantially different? Was going through all my old faves and wanted to give it a run but rather use the switch versions for the updated controls.
What're the chances of a nmg sort of category making an appearance with new skips being found on the semi-regular?
I know a couple folks from the glitchless sonic categories, myself included, that'd love to give crash whirl but just aren't into the hyperjumps/swapping resolution/etc sort of gameplay and would like an equal footing. - I've kind of poked around and have been told to "just learn it" or "there's many glitchless runners with good times" - but it'd be nice to compete with equal footing with no glitches rather than just always know its never going to be top placing. Anything already submitted can remain but future nmg style runs would go on the new board how they handled sonic 2.
Or if not now, how many skips have to be found until we can just have another tab? With so many runners surely it can't be too bad to have a category like this now (we even have category extensions)
Appreciate the consideration!
I'll have to look into that then! not sure why i didnt get a notification ya'll replied. Loved the streams Brando!
As the title says, any chance we could do some "full" game speed runs or have a category for it atleast?
Appreciate it!
